Glorifying Charms: simple ways to implement them (brainstorming Ideas).

OK so before I begin I want to say two things, the first is that even tho I said "simple" in the title I know that implemented even the smallest things can be hard in the amazing world of game development so read all of this with a grain of salt, and the second is that I think I understand why team cherry took this feature off there game, given that the gods and glory *godmaster is a late game content it doesn't make a lot of sense to implement a charms changing mechanic when you are probably not going to use it in the rest of the game, or maybe it was just something to hard to implement IDK, the point is I am NOT shiting on them for not implementing this mecanic I am just giving my ideas of how it could be implemented.

Now back to my original topic, ever since they announced this charm glorification think I was excited for it, and the fact that it got cancelled really makes me sad, this is because I felt that it had potencial, so I came up with a cool way they could implement it that isn't extremely hard or time consuming (they have to focus on the hornet dlc after all).

How would you acquire it: OK so the best way this ability would be acquire (in my mind) is by completing the first 3 pantheons the chest could even appear between the hall of gods and the life blood room so that dumb players realise they can go down there. Yes, you only have access to the first 3 pantheons on the middle to late game, but you would still be able to use this mechanic in a variety of other places such as NKG, dream versions of bosses (lost kin, fallen champion, soul tirant, white defender), trial of the fool, the radiance, queens gardens and of the other 2 pantheons (especially the 5th one since I don't expect team cherry to add checkpoints). Making it a viable mechanic for the core game.

How would it work: so after you have beaten the first 3 pantheons you would get a "glorified charm notch", and what would this do? You ask, well fist it would be a extra charm notch (making it 12 a good round number), but i would not be a simple charm notch, it would take the fist spot in your charm inventory <Image Below> and the charm you equipe there will become glorified making it stronger or giving it a extra ability to bost things up, this would add interesting decisions for the player, it would please the fans, it would lower the difficulty of the rest of godmaster and best of all you would not have to redesign every single charm with new art, and a new npc to give them to the player or anything, so Win Win!

I could stop there, but I feel like sharing some more ideas so here is a list of what every charm could do using this mecanic.

if there is more than one option: *this easiest to implement* - and - this is the coolest option

  • Quick Slash.
    • Increases the attack speed with the Nail by ~45% instead 35% and make so that the player can just hold the button instead of having to push faster (bonus points if it receives a ninja animation).
  • Long Nail and Mark of Pride (remember you can’t glorify both).
    • *Increases the range for regular Nail attacks even more.*
    • Increases the range for Nail arts by ~30%.
  • Fury of the Fallen.
    • *When having only 1 Mask left: Increases your Nail's damage by 125%.\*
    • When having only 2 Mask left: Increases your Nail's damage by 75%.

    • Emit black thorns ~1 second after taking damage, dealing 300% of your Nail's damage instead of 200%.

  • Glowing Womb.
    • *Hatchlings deal 10 damage on impact instead of 7.*
    • Consume less SOUL (or any SOUL).
  • Quick Focus.
    • *Even quicker focus.*
    • Can start a focus mid air (have to finish on the ground).

    • 3-4 damage per tick instead of 1-2.
  • Sharp Shadow.
    • Deal 1.5x nail damage (2.5x with dashmaster).
  • Shape of Unn.
    • Full speed while in slug form (even faster with quick focus).
  • Nailmaster's Glory.
    • Increase nail art damage by 25%.
  • Weaversong.
    • *weaverlings do 5 damage.*
    • Spawns 4 weaverlings instead of 3 that do 4 damage instead of 3.
  • Dream Wielder.
    • *Hitting a enemy now recharges 99% of the soul vessel.*
    • Hitting a enemy now recharges 99% of the soul vessel and you get extra dialog from the godseker.
  • Dream Shield.
    • What is better than one shield … two shiels.
  • Grimm Child.
    • In its final for became a waking mini grimm that follows you, sit on the bench with you and do mini versions of grimm atac......Just kidding… team cherry would never do that (unfortunatly).
    • Grimm Jr. deal double damage.
  • Carefree Melody.
    • The chace to not receive damage raise 20% per hit instead of 10%.
  • Kingsoul.
    • Twice as much SOUL for the same amount of time.
  • Void Heart.
    • Does not have use any charm notch, therefore cannot be glorified.

And this is it, this is how I think team cherry could implement a system for glorifying charms in the game without much effort, not that this is easy to implement, but is probably easier than what the were planning to do before, I think.

Well before a wrap this thing up I want to mention some more things.

  1. Do I think that team cherry will take my ideas am implement? NO! I am just a random guy in the internet how aspire to be a game designer, I just want to share my ideas, it would be awesome if it hapend, but I don't believe it will ever happened.
  2. Do I think that they will at least read this post? IDK, maybe.
  3. Do I think my ideas is perfect? NO not at all. but I would like to improve this so if anyone have any sugestions of how to make this idea better tell me, and I will edit it in.
  4. A lot of the number I got to make this came from this steam post .
  5. Thank you team cherry for making this game, it is one of my favorites.
  6. I usually take a long time to answer comment so be aware of that.
  7. And lastly I don't want anyone reposting this… wait what am I saying this is reddit.
