Is there a way to render perspective linesfrom the angle you are rendering ?

So I am making this art from a weird angle and am rendering the 3d first to draw the character the stuff over it but I won't be able to nail down the perspective right ..I mean I can manually make them later on the IMG but it would be tides so is there a way have/make/render perspective lines in blender 2.8?

Thank you

Nintendo Switch ports rated by quality

Edit 1: Alphabetized, game titles bolded, spacing effort

Edit 2: Re-added some user added games that got deleted somehow (probably too many edits)

Edit 3: Feel free to post your opinion even if a games already up there. I'll add yours as well

Let's help each other make a list of games based on how good of ports they are. I'll start with my library, add yours and I'll add it to OP. Let's try and fill this out, help your fellow gamer make the right purchase!!

Scale: 0 being unplayable 10 being excellent

Abzu: (Framerate is not stable in handheld, takes a giant nosedive in more cluttered areas. It is ok when docked.) (Credit u/Lyalla)

Ace Attorney Trilogy: 9. (Solid port that finally nails the character portraits in HD while also having a pretty slick UI and incorporating touch controls and HD rumble. That being said it's come at the cost of seriously sanitizing backgrounds. Otherwise it's the same trilogy that you know and love, here's hoping the other games come over.) (Credit u/kkundlas1105)

Animus: 6 (This one was actually a mobile game. I like this game but long load times, a handful of very inconvenient glitches ((allies suddenly not spawning in areas where they're practically needed to progress)) and what appears to be no sign of the devs releasing a patch period churn it from what should be at least a 7 to something lower. Uninstalling and reinstalling does not fix the glitches.)

Arcade Classics Anniversary Collection - Konami: 10. (Arcade Archives have done great work with their games on switch and it shows with the Konami Arcade Collection. Similarly M2 comes back for the latter 2 collections and they improve where the Mana collection fell short with even more goodies, region exclusive games, and even the Japanese versions of their games. One area where Konami finally delivered. (Credit u/kkundlas1105)

ARK: Survival Evolved: 1 (The port was a joke. It barely hit 20 frames at times. Not to mention the graphics look like a bad ps2 game on handheld. Credit u/Wild_Encounter)

The Banner Saga Trilogy: (UI is poorly optimised - while playing it was very clear to me that this was made for a mouse. Highlighting units on battlefield was a chore, which is an issue in a strategy game, and while you can do it by tapping touch screen, the moment they stand close together you lose ability to point precisely. Moving units themselves was executed well though. In everything except dialogue and tutorials font is too small to be readable in handheld and menu navigation is unintuitive with the sticks. If you can play it on pc, you should play it on pc.) (Credit u/Lyalla)

Bayonetta 1+2: 10 (Higher framerate, higher resolution, nuff said) (Credit u/jdsrockin)

Binding of isaac Afterbirth+: 8 (Added quick reset, no fps drops it feels like it was made for the switch.) (Credit u/blazingchaos91)

Bloodstained Ritual of the Night: 7 (Has a lot of problems, the devs talk about a patch coming on November but as the moment of this post the port is 6-8/10 ((because the experience varies between users))) (Credit u/DeadlyLancer)

Castle Crashers Remastered: 10. (This game is as good on Switch as PS4/XB1/Steam and it's portable thanks to Switch. This is the best version of the game availbile.)

Castlevania Anniversary Collection: 10.

Civilization 6: 7. (It's still perfectly fun, but it gets slow in the late game, and there are some things that are hard to do docked without the touch screen. If the Switch is your only gaming device ((me)), or you really want to play Civ on the go ((also me)), it's worth getting. But if you have a gaming computer and don't mind playing there, that's the better option.) (Credit u/bockout)

Collection of Mana: 9. (M2 nail it with a fantastic re-release with save states and a music player along with fantastic emulation (Trials getting localized alone would have been enough for me to call this great), and really it's just those extra steps holding it back. I would have loved the Japanese versions of the game, the ability to turn off borders, and more visual options.) (Credit u/kkundlas1105)

Contra Anniversary Collection: 10.

Cuphead: 9. (Load times are slightly better on other systems but with fast restarts it's far from game breaking. Very solid port.)

Dark Souls Remastered: 8. (Solid 30 throughout. Graphics can't compete with other consoles remastered version but the games all here with dlc baked in.)

Dead by Daylight: 6.5 (A pretty good port just a bit uglier than it's console counterparts.) (Credit u/venusasabae)

Devil May Cry: 8. (It's the HD collection game sold back to you at a premium, which sucks. Otherwise it's basically the same experience you'll find on other platforms (with all the existing HD collection issues), and with 2 out I'm confident we'll get 3 along with a physical collection like Resident Evil did.) (Credit u/kkundlas1105)

Devil May Cry 2: 8.

Diablo III: 9 (I think Diablo III is an excellent port, stable 60fps 99% of the time. Can't give more data rn but there are several videos that proves this.) (Credit u/mechanical_bless)

Divinity Original Sin 2: 7 (Dynamic res isn't too troublesome, huge spell effects can tank the framerate at times, text is readable in handheld) (Credit u/jdsrockin)

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2: 9. (Damn good port, 30 fps in multi-fights, 60 fps in 1v1. This is the real Xeno2 but on Switch. Hub world kinda laggy on portable)

Dragon's Dogma: 9 (Framerate is better than the PS3/360 versions, controls hold up on the Switch, only 30 bucks rather than going with a full 60) (Credit u/jdsrockin)

Dragon Quest: 7. Perfect port of the mobile version of the game, but the mobile versions weren't that great to begin with. M2 really need to come in and show their love to DQ and FF, especially with the first six entries of each series. Otherwise just pretty basic port of already pretty basic versions of the game. (Credit u/kkundlas1105)

Dragon Quest 2: 7.

Dragon Quest 3: 7.

Dragon Quest XI: 8 (Resolution differences are definitely noticable in handheld, graphics didn't take a huge hit, framerate is good, plus all the extra stuff makes up for its lower res) (Credit u/jdsrockin)

Final Fantasy VII: 7: (Honestly is a pretty barebones port of the classic title, and I can't help but feel the new convenience options trivialize the games in a way I'm not happy with. That being said, I can see how they benefit those who want the option. Otherwise it's a pretty functional if boring port. Happy they fixed the music glitch at last.) (Credit u/kkundlas1105)

Final Fantasy IX: 7: (Basically the same issues and positives with VII, but with the caveat that features like full analog control and multiplayer from past versions don't make an easy comeback.) (Credit u/kkundlas1105)

Friday the 13th: 9. (Controversial but the friday the 13th one is one of the best ports on the console. plays and looks exactly like it does on the other consoles and is just a really fun time.) (Credit u/venusasabae)

Hellblade - Seuna's Revenge: 8. (Getting this game playable at all is an achievement, and the transitions between the lower-resolution gameplay to higher resolution pre-rendered videos is super smooth. It's a pretty sizable game at 18 gb, but it shows. It is pretty hard to see in handheld mode though.) (Credit u/kkundlas1105)

Hollow Knight: 10 (1. Runs great, Hollow Knight had input lag at one point and had a few bugs but I cannot say it's a bad port because it happened only two or three times and maybe they are now fixed. Perfect port so 10/10) (2. I cannot compare it with other versions but I can tell you it is very stable and, from what I've heard, Switch version actually made some improvements that were patched into versions on other platforms. So I'd say it's solid.) (Credit 1. u/DeadlyLancer) (Credit 2. u/Lyalla)

Lego Worlds: 7. (This one was tough. It's as arbitrarily broken as on every other system, with a few Switch specific downgrades graphically. Still just as solidly enjoyable and heartbreaking as everywhere else, I'll go 7 for the port quality.)

Minecraft: 9.* (Solid port, superior to PS4 version, minor amount less capable than Win10/XB1. *in my experience ((with a download version)) Credit u/Benay148 for pointing out it should be noted others have had issues with this port)

Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate: 10 (Flawless ((port from MHXX 3ds))) (Credit u/DeadlyLancer)

Okami: 10 (All platforms are locked to 30 and hold it, highest res possible on Switch, handheld mode feels like the definitive way to play instead of Wiimote or PS Move) (Credit u/jdsrockin)

Ori and the Blind Forest - Definitive Edition: 10. (It's the already great game on Switch with all the optimizations made to the game over the years, including 60 fps in handheld. This and Cuphead were my dream ports, and Microsoft really delivered.) (Credit u/kkundlas1105)

Overcooked: 9 (Has bigger load times but the game also runs flawlessly 9/10) (Credit u/DeadlyLancer)

Puyo Puyo Tetris: 10 (Maybe you don't know but Puyo Puyo tetris is also a port, it runs perfect too. 10/10) (Credit u/DeadlyLancer)

Red Faction Guerilla: 4.* (This game inspired the post. I wanted to like it, and it's technically playable. But loading screens are the worst I've encountered on the Switch period, docked or handheld, to the point where I don't play anymore. Also drive too fast and the game enteres Nintendo 64 mode. Good game, ass port, it technically runs. *in my experience ((with a download version)) Credit u/Benay148 for pointing out it should be noted others have not had the same issue with this port)

Resident Evil 4: 8  (This game looks fantastic in HD and still holds up pretty well today. The Switch port hits a consistent 60fps with some barely noticeable dips in more crowded areas. Unfortunately there aren't any features specific to the Switch version which is a shame because gyro aiming would have been a great option to have. Nevertheless, this is an almost flawless port of one of the greatest games of the GameCube generation.) (Credit u/Clownbaby5)

Resident Evil Revelations 1+2: 10. (Capcom really went above and beyond with this port, creating custom motion controls and even using the IR sensor for reloading. Solid ports of some lukewarm Resi games. Now if only that effort stayed consistent with the rest of the ports...) (Credit u/kkundlas1105)

The Sexy Brutale: 3. (The game that still has issues on fully upgraded PC's has issues on Switch. Go figure. One of the worst optimized games I have ever seen. Lackluster resolution despite a toony art direction, ungodly load times just between rooms, horrible input lag, and I swear below 10 fps at times. Points for trying to fix it and for technically being beatable, but don't bother.) (Credit u/kkundlas1105)

Shovel Knight: 9-10. (1. The game is exactly the same as PC, it comes with great multiplayer co op like the original along with the same 8 bit graphics brought to your TV or portable. Overall it's fun to play with friends, it also supports single joycon if someone (like my gf) prefers the smaller simpler controller scheme of a single joycon. It doesn't have motion controls but that's passable for an 8 bit retro style videogame lol but it also includes all DLC the PC port currently has and is adding more when the DLC is complete. Overally great game with equal fun and support of the original.) (2. Runs great, perfect port so 10/10) (Credit 1. my brother 9/10 ) (Credit 2. u/DeadlyLancer 10/10)

Skyrim Remastered: 8. (Graphics aren't quite on other systems remastered level, its locked 30 fps and no mods unlike other consoles, but it's superior to last gen versions and portable. Solid port.)

**Southpark: The Fractured But Whole: 10. Cartoony aesthetic Seventh/Eighth Gen game still holds up and controls great on Switch. Go figure. (Credit u/kkundlas1105)

**Southpark: The Stick of Truth: 10. Cartoony aesthetic Seventh/Eighth Gen game still holds up and controls great on Switch. Go figure. (Credit u/kkundlas1105)

Spyro Reignited Trilogy: 7. (I'm happy these games are here relatively in tact, but the fps dips are constant, motion blur can't be used in handheld, it's got some pretty hard dithering, and the fact the physical version STILL requires a download for most of the content despite it being able to fit on a single 16 gb cart is cheap as hell.) (Credit u/kkundlas1105)

Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast: 6. (The game is a carbon copy of the original with 1080p remastered graphics which look great. The game itself I haven't used Motion controls with the joycons so I can't give an opinion on that but some of the controls are a bit odd with some button placement in comparison to the Gamecube and the Original Xbox Controller but nothing radically difficult but no improvements in that way. The game looks great, the cheats have been altered a tad from the original, and there are sometimes glitches that interrupt the game very rarely. The game is better graphically but without multiplayer it takes a huge hit. Multiplayer originally was one of the best features to showcase the game's lightsaber combat which is the best out of any star wars game to date. Hopefully they patch it in later, if they do I will change my score. But just being a graphical uphaul with removed features, I have to go with 6.) (Credit my brother)

The Witcher 3: 11 (How do you like the taste of that silver?) (Credit u/jdsrockin)

The World Ends With You - Final Remix: 6. (Wondermagenta has a pretty good video detailing the issues with this port, but to sum up: An over-glorified port of the mobile version of TWEWY that already failed to preserve the art of the game while also failing to update the control scheme in a comfortable manner and undermining TWEWY's conclusive ending with new, sequel-begging content. Either play the original or get the mobile version for cheaper.) (Credit u/kkundlas1105)

The First Book of the Chronicles, chapters 21 - 29

21 NOW SATAN, SETTING HIMSELF AGAINST ISRAEL, incited David to count the people. So he instructed Joab and his public officers to go out and number Israel, from Beersheba to Dan, and to report the number to him. Joab answered, 'Even if the LORD should increase his people a hundredfold, would not your majesty still be king and all the people your slaves? Why should your majesty want to do this? It will only bring guilt on Israel.' But Joab was overruled by the king; he set out and went up and down the whole country. He then came to Jerusalem and reported to David the numbers recorded: those capable of bearing arms were one million one hundred thousand in Israel, and four hundred and seventy thousand in Judah. Levi and Benjamin were not counted by Joab, so deep was his repugnance against the king's order. God was displeased with all this and proceeded to punish Israel. David said to God, 'I have done a very wicked thing: I pray thee remove thy servant's guilt, for I have been very foolish.' And the LORD said to Gad, David's seer, 'Go and tell David, "This is the word of the LORD: I have three things to offer you; choose one of them and I will bring it upon you."' So Gad came to David and said to him, 'This is the word of the LORD: "Make your choice: three years of famine, three months of harrying by your foes and close pursuit by the sword of your enemy, or three days of the LORD's own sword, bringing pestilence throughout the country, and the LORD's angel working destruction in all the territory of Israel." Consider now what answer I am to take back to him who sent me.' Thereupon David said to Gad, 'I am in a desperate plight; let me fall into the hands of the LORD, for his mercy is very great; and let me not fall into the hands of man.' So the LORD sent a pestilence throughout Israel, and seventy thousand men of Israel died. And God sent an angel to Jerusalem to destroy it; but, as he was destroying it, the LORD saw and repented of the evil, and said to the destroying angel at the moment when he was standing beside the threshing- floor of Ornan the Jebusite, 'Enough! Stay your hand.' When David looked up and saw the angel of the LORD standing between earth and heaven, with his sword drawn in hand and stretched out over Jerusalem, he and the elders, clothed in sackcloth, fell prostrate to the ground; and David said to God, 'It was I who gave the order to count the people. It was I who sinned, I, the shepherd, who did wrong. But these poor sheep, what have they done? O LORD my God, let thy hand fall upon me and upon my family, but check this plague on the people.' The angel of the LORD, speaking through the lips of Gad, commanded David to go to the threshing-floor of Ornan the Jebusite and set up there an altar to the LORD. David went up as Gad had bidden him in the LORD's name. Ornan's four sons who were with him hid themselves, but he was busy threshing his wheat when he turned and saw the angel. As David approached, Ornan looked up and, seeing the king, came out from the threshing-floor and prostrated himself before him. David said to Ornan, 'Let me have the site of the threshing-floor that I may build on it an altar to the LORD; sell it me at the full price, that the plague which has attacked my people may be stopped.' Ornan answered David, 'Take it and let your majesty do as he thinks fit; see, here are the oxen for whole-offerings, the threshing-sledges for the fuel, and the wheat for the grain-offering; I give you everything.' But King David said to Ornan, 'No, I will pay the full price; I will not present to the LORD what is yours, or offer a whole-offering which has cost me nothing.' So David gave Ornan six hundred shekels of gold for the site, and built an altar to the LORD there; on this he offered whole-offerings and shared-offerings, and called upon the LORD, who answered him with fire falling from heaven on the altar of whole-offering. Then, at the LORD's command, the angel sheathed his sword. It was when David saw that the LORD had answered him at the threshing- floor of Ornan the Jebusite that he offered sacrifice there. The tabernacle of the LORD and the altar of whole-offering which Moses had made in the wilderness were then at the hill-shrine in Gibeon; but David had been unable to go there and seek God's guidance, so shocked and shaken was he 22 at the sight of the angel's sword. Then David said, 'This is to be the house of the LORD God, and this is to be an altar of whole-offering for Israel.' DAVID NOW GAVE ORDERS to assemble the aliens resident in Israel, and he set them as masons to dress hewn stones and to build the house of God. He laid in a great store of iron to make nails and clamps for the doors, more bronze than could be weighed and cedar-wood without limit; the men of Sidon and Tyre brought David an ample supply of cedar. David said, 'My son Solomon is a boy of tender years, and the house that is to be built to the LORD must be exceedingly magnificent, renowned and celebrated in every land; therefore I must make preparations for it myself.' So David made abundant preparation before his death. He sent for Solomon his son and charged him to build a house for the LORD the God of Israel. 'Solomon, my son,' he said, 'I had intended to build a house in honour of the name of the LORD my God; but the LORD forbade me and said, "You have shed much blood in my sight and waged great wars; for this reason you shall not build a house in honour of my name. But you shall have a son who shall be a man of peace; I will give him peace from all his enemies on every side; his name shall be Solomon, 'Man of Peace', and I will grant peace and quiet to Israel in his days. He shall build a house in honour of my name; he shall be my son and I will be a father to him, and I will establish the throne of his sovereignty over Israel for ever." Now, Solomon my son, the LORD be with you! May you prosper and build the house of the LORD your God, as he promised you should. But may the LORD grant you wisdom and discretion, so that when he gives you authority in Israel you may keep the law of the LORD your God. You will prosper only if you re careful to observe the decrees and ordinances which the LORD enjoined upon Moses for Israel; be strong and resolute, neither faint-hearted nor dismayed. 'In spite of all my troubles, I have here ready for the house of the LORD a hundred thousand talents of gold and a million talents of silver, with great quantities of bronze and iron, more than can be weighed; timber and stone, too, I have got ready; and you may add to them. Besides, you have a large force of workmen, masons, sculptors, and carpenters, and countless man skilled in work of every kind, in gold and silver, bronze and iron. So now to work, and the LORD be with you!' David ordered all the officers of Israel to help Solomon his son: 'Is not the LORD your God with you? Will he not give you peace on every side? For he has given the inhabitants of the land into my power, and they will be subject to the LORD and his people. Devote yourselves, therefore, heart and soul, to seeking guidance of the LORD your God, and set about building his sanctuary, so that the Ark of the Covenant of the LORD and God's holy vessels may be brought into a house built in honour of his name.' 23 David was now an old man, weighed down with years, and he appointed Solomon his son king over Israel. he gathered together all the officers of Israel, the priests, and the Levites. The Levites were enrolled from the age of thirty upwards, their males being thirty-eight thousand in all. Of these, twenty-four thousand were to be responsible for the maintenance and service of the house of the LORD, six thousand to act as officers and magis- trates, four thousand to be door-keepers, and four thousand to praise the LORD on musical instruments which David had made for the service of praise. David organized them in divisions, called after Gershon, Kohath, and Merari, the sons of Levi. The sons of Gershon: Laadan and Shimei. The sons of Laadan: Jehiel the chief, Zetham and Joel, three. These were the heads of the families grouped under Laadan. The sons of Shimei: Jahath, Ziza, Jeush and Beriah, four. Jahath was the chief and Ziza the second, but Jeush and Beriah, having few children, were reckoned for duty as a single family. The sons of Kohath: Amram, Izhar, Hebron and Uzziel, four. The sons of Amram: Aaron and Moses. Aaron was set apart, he and his sons in perpetuity, to dedicate the most holy gifts, to burn sacrifices before the LORD, to serve him, and to give the blessing in his name for ever, but the sons of Moses, the man of God, were to keep the name of Levite. The sons of Moses: Gershom and Eliezer. The sons of Gershom: Shubael the chief. The sons of Hebron: Jeriah the chief, Amariah the second, Jahaziel the third and Jekameam the fourth. The sons of Uzziel: Micah the chief and Isshiah the second. The sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi. The sons of Mahli: Eleazar and Kish. When Eleazar died, he left daughters but no sons, and their cousins, the sons of Kish, married them. The sons of Mushi: Mahli, Eder and Jeremoth, three. Such were the Levites, grouped by families in the father's line whose heads were entered in the detailed list; they performed duties in the service of the house of the LORD, from the age of twenty upwards. For David said, 'The LORD God of Israel has given his people peace and has made his abode in Jerusalem for ever. The Levites will no longer have to carry the tabernacle or any of the vessels for its service.' By these last words of David the Levites were enrolled from the age of twenty upwards. Their duty was to help the sons of Aaron in the service of the house of the LORD: they were responsible for the care of the courts and the rooms, for the cleansing of all holy things, and the general service of the house of God; for the rows of the Bread of the Presence, the flour for the grain-offerings, unleavened wafers, cakes baked on the griddle, and pastry, and for the weights and measures. They were to be on duty continually before the LORD every morning and evening, giving thanks and praise to him, and at every offering of whole-offerings to the LORD, on sabbaths, new moons and at appointed seasons, according to their prescribed number. The Levites were to have charge of the Tent of the Presence and of the sanctuary, but the sons of Aaron their kinsmen were charged with the service of worship in the house of the LORD. 24 The divisions of the sons of Aaron: his sons were Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar. Nadab and Abihu died before their father, leaving no sons; therefore Eleazar and Ithamar held the office of priest. David, acting with Zadok of the sons of Eleazar and with Ahimelech of the sons of Ithamar, organized them in divisions for the discharge of the duties of their office. The male heads of families proved to be more numerous in the line of Eleazar than in that of Ithamar, so that sixteen heads of families were grouped under the line of Eleazar and eight under that of Ithamar. He organized them by drawing lots among them, for there were sacred offices and officers of God in the line of Eleazar and in that of Ithamar. Shemaiah the clerk, a Levite, son of Nethaneel, wrote down the names in the presence of the king, the officers, Zadok the priest, and Ahimelech son of Abiathar, and of the heads of the priestly and levitical families, one priestly family being taken from the line of Eleazar and one from that of Ithamar. The first lot fell to Jehoiarib, the second to Jedaiah, the third to Harim, the fourth to Seorim, the fifth to Malchiah, the sixth to Muijamin, the seventh to Hakkoz, the eighth to Abiah, the ninth to Jeshua, the tenth to Shecanaiah, the eleventh to Eliashib, the twelfth to Jakim, the thirteenth to Huppah, the fourteenth to Jeshebeab, the fifteenth to Bilgah, the six- teenth to Immer, the seventeenth to Hezir, the eighteenth to Aphses, the nineteenth to Pethahiah, the twentieth to Jehezekel, the twenty-first to Jachin, the twenty-second to Gamul, the twenty-third to Delaiah, and the twenty-fourth to Maaziah. This was their order of duty for the discharge of their service when they entered the house of the LORD, according to the rule prescribed for them by their ancestor Aaron, who had received his instructions from the LORD the God of Israel. Of the remaining Levites: of the sons of Amram: Shuabel. Of the sons of Shubael: Jehdeiah. Of Rehabiah: Isshiah, the chief of Rehabiah's sons. Of the line of Izhar: Shelomoth. Of the sons of Shelomoth: Jahath. The sons of Hebron: Jeriah the chief, Amariah the second, Jahaziek the third and Jekameam the fourth. The sons of Uzziek: Micah. Of the sons of Micah: Shamir; Micah's brother: Isshiah. Of the sons of Isshiah: Zechari- ah. The sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi and also Jaaziah his son. The sons of Merari: of Jaaziah: Beno, Shoham, Zaccur and Ibri. Of Mahli: Eleazar, who had no sons; of Kish: the sons of Kish: Jerahmeel; and the sons of Mushi: Mahli, Eder and Jerimoth. These were the Levites by families. These also, side by side with their kinsmen the sons of Aaron, cast lots in the presence of King David, Zadok, Ahimelech, and the heads of the priestly and levitical families, the senior and junior houses casting lots side by side. 25 David and his chief officers assigned special duties to the sons of Asaph, of Heman, and of Jeduthun, leaders in inspired prophecy to the accom- paniment of harps, lutes, and cymbals; the number of the men who per- formed this work in the temple was as follows. Of the sons of Asaph: Zaccur, Joseph, Nethaniah and Asarelah; these were under Asaph, a leader in inspired prophecy under the king. Of the sons of Jeduthun; Gedaliah, Izri, Isaiah, Shimei, Hashabiah, Mattithiah, these six under their father Jeduthun, a leader in inspired prophecy to the accompaniment of the harp, giving thanks and praise to the LORD. Of the sons of Heman: Bukkiah, Mattathiah, Uzziel, Shubael, Jerimoth, Hananiah, Hanani, Eliathah, Giddalti, Romamti-ezer, Joshbekashah, Mallothi, Hothir, and Mahazioth; all these were sons of Heman the king's seer, given to him through the promises of God for his greater glory. God h ad given Heman fourteen sons and three daughters, and they all served under their father for the singing in the house of the LORD; they took part in the service of the house of God, with cymbal, lutes, and harps, while Asaph, Jeduthun, and Heman were under the king. Reckoned with their kinsmen, trained singers of the LORD, they brought the total number of skilled musicians up to two hundred and eighty-eight. They cast lots for their duties, young and old, master-singer and apprentice side by side. The first lot fell to Joseph: he and his brothers and his sons, twelve. The second to Gedaliah: he and his brothers and his sons, twelve. The third to Zaccur: his sons and his brothers, twelve. The fourth to Izri: his sons and his brothers, twelve. The fifth to Nethaniah: his sons and his brothers, twelve. The sixth to Bukkiah: his sons and his brothers, twelve. The seventh to Asarelah: his sons and brothers, twelve. The eights to Isaiah: his sons and his brothers, twelve. The ninth to Mattaniah: his sons and his brothers, twelve. The tenth to Shimei: his sons and his brothers, twelve. The eleventh to Azareel: his sons and his brothers, twelve. The twelfth was Hashabiah: his sons and his brothers, twelve. The thirteenth To Shubael; his sons and his brothers, twelve. The fourteenth to Mat- tithiah: his sons and his brothers, twelve, the fifteenth to Jeremoth: his sons and his brothers, twelve. The sixteenth to Hananiah: his sons and his brothers, twelve. The seventeenth to Joshbekashah: his sons and his brothers, twelve. The eighteenth to Hanani: his sons and his brothers, twelve. The nineteenth to Mallothi: his sons and his brothers, twelve. The twentieth to Eliathah: his sons and his brothers, twelve. The twenty- first to Hothir: his sons and his brothers, twelve. The twenty-second to Giddalti: his sons and his brothers, twelve. The twenty-third to Mahazioth: his sons and his brothers, twelve. The twenty-fourth to Romanti-ezer: his sons and his brothers, twelve. 26 The divisions of the door-keepers: Korahites: Meselemiah son of Kore, son of Ebiasaph. Sons of Meshelemiah: Zechariah the eldest, Jediael the second, Zebediah the third, Jathniel the fourth, Elam the fifth, Jehohanan the sixth, Elionai the seventh. Sons of Obed-edom: Shemaiah the eldest, Jehozabad the second, Joah the third, Sacar the fourth, Neth- aneel the fifth, Ammiel the sixth, Issachar the seventh, Peulthai the eighth (for God had blessed him). Shemaiah, his son, was the father of sons who had authority in their family, for they were men of great ability. Sons of Shemaiah: Othni, Rephael, Obed, Elzabad and his brothers Eilhu and Semachiah, men of ability. All these belonged to the family of Obed-edom; they, their sons and brothers, were men of ability, fit for service in the temple; total: sixty-two. Sons and brothers of Meshelemiah, all men of abil- ity, eighteen. Sons of Hosah, a Merarite: Shimri the chief (he was not the oldest, but his father had made him chief), Hilkiah the second, Tebaliah the third, Zechariah the fourth. Total of Hosah's sons and brothers: thirteen. The male heads of families constituted the divisions of the door-keepers; their duty was to serve in the house of the LORD side by side with their kinsmen. Young and old, family by family, they cast lots for the gates. The lot for the east gate fell to Shelemiah; then lots were cast for his son Zechariah, a prudent counsellor, and he was allotted the north gate. To Obed-edom was allotted the south gate, and the gatehouse to his sons. Hosah was allotted the west gate, together with the Shallecheth gate on the ascending causeway. Guard corresponded to guard. Six Levites were on duty daily on the east side, four on the north and four on the south, and two at each gatehouse; at the western colonnade there were four at the causeway and two at the colonnade itself. These were the divisions of the door-keepers, Korahites and Merarites. Fellow-Levites were in charge of the stores of the house of God and of the stores of sacred gifts. Of the children of Laadan, descendants of the Ger- shonite line through Laadan, heads of families in the groups of Laadan the Gershonite, Jehiel and his brothers Zetham and Joel were in charge of the stores of the house of the LORD. Of the families of Amram, Izhar, Hebron and Uzziel, Shubael son of Gershom, son of Moses, was overseer of the stores. The line of Eliezer his brother: his son Rehabiah, his son Isaiah, his son Joram, his son Zichri, and his son Shelomoth. This Shelomoth and his kinsmen were in charge of all the stores of the sacred gifts dedicated by David the king, the heads of families, the officers over units of a thousand and a hundred, and other officers of the army. They had dedicated some of the spoils taken in the wars for the upkeep of the house of the LORD. Everything which Samuel the seer, Saul, son of Kish, Abner son of Ner, and Joab son of Zeruiah had dedicated, in short every sacred gift, was under the charge of Shelomoth and his kinsmen. Of the family of Izhar, Kenaniah and his sons acted as clerks and magistrates in the secular affairs of Israel. Of the family of Hebron, Hashabiah and his kinsmen, men of ability to the number of seventeen hundred, had the oversight of Israel west of the Jordan, both in the work of the LORD and in the service of the king. Also of the family of Hebron, Jeriah was the chief. (In the fortieth year of David's reign search was made for the family histories of the Hebron- ites, and men of great ability were found among them at Jazer in Gilead.) His kinsmen, all men of ability , two thousand seven hundred of them, heads of families, were charge by King David with the oversight of the Reubenites, the Gadites, and the half tribe of Manasseh, in religious and civil affairs alike. 27 THE NUMBER OF THE ISRAELITES——that is to say, of the heads of fami- lies, the officers over units of a thousand and a hundred, and the clerks who had their share in the king's service in the various divisions which took monthly turns of duty throughout the year——was twenty-four thousand in each division. First, Jashobeam son of Zabdiel commanded the division for the first month with twenty-four thousand in his division; a member ofthe house of Perez, he was the chief officer of the temple staff for the first month. Eleazar son of Dodai the Ahohite commanded the division for the second month with twenty-four thousand in his division. Third, Benaiah son of Jehoiada the chief priest, commander of the army, was the chief officer for the third month with twenty-four thousand in his division (he was the Benaiah who was one of the thirty warriors and was chief among the thirty); but his son Ammizabad commanded his division. Fourth, Asahel, the brother of Joab, was the officer commanding for the fourth month with twenty-four thousand in his division; and his successor was Zebediah his son. Fifth, Shamhuth the Zerahite was the officer commanding for the fifth month with twenty-four thousand in his division. Sixth, Ira son of Ikkesh, a man of Tekoa, was the officer commanding for the sixth month with twenty- four thousand in his division. Seventh, Helez an Ephraimite, from a place unknown, was the officer commanding for the seventh month with twenty-four thousand in his division. Eighth, Sibbecai the Hushathite, of the family of Zerah, was the officer commanding for the eighth month with twenty-four thousand in his division. Ninth, Abiezer, from Anathoth in Benjamin, was the officer commanding for the ninth month with twenty- four thousand in his division. Tenth, Maharai the Netophathite, of the family of Zerah, was the officer commanding for the tenth month with twenty-four thousand in his division. Twelfth, Heldai, the Netophathite, of the family of Othniel, was the officer commanding for the twelfth month with twenty-four thousand in his division. The following were the principal officers in charge of the tribes of Israel: of Reuben, Eliezer son of Zichri; of Simeon, Shephatiah son of Maacah; of Levi, Hashabiah son of Kemuel; of Aaron, Zadok; of Judah, Elihu a kinsman of David; of Issachar, Omri son of Michael; of Zebulun, Ishmaiah son of Obadiah; of Naphtali, Jerimoth son of Azriel; of Ephraim, Hoshea son of Azaziah; of the half-tribe of Manasseh, Joel son od Pedaiah; of the half of Manasseh in Gilead, Iddo son of Zechariah; of Benjamin, Jaasiel sno of Abner; of Dan, Azareel son of Jeroham. These were the officers in charge of the tribes of Israel. David took no census of those under twenty years of age, for the LORD had promised to make the Israelites as many as the stars in the heavens. Joab son of Zeruiah did begin to take a census but he did not finish it; this brought harm upon Israel, and the census was not entered in the chronicles of King David's reign. Azmoth son of Adiel was in charge of the king's stores; Jonathan son of Uzziah was in charge of the stores in the country, in the cities, in the villages and in the fortresses. Ezri son of Kelub had oversight of the workers on the land; Shimei of Ramah was in charge of the vine-dressers, whole Zabdi of Shephem had charge of the produce of the vineyards for the wine-cellars, Baal-hanan the Gederite supervised the wild olives and the sycamore-figs in the Shephelah; Joash was in charge of the oil-stores. Shitrai of Sharon was in charge of the herds grazing in Sharon, Shaphat son of Adlai of the herds in the vales. Obil the Ishmaelite was in charge of the camels, Jehdeiah the Meronothite of the asses. Jaziz the Hagerite was in charge of the flocks. All these were the officers in charge of King David's possessions. David's favourite nephew Jonathan, a counsellor, a discreet and learned man, and Jehiel the Hachmonite, were tutors to the king's sons. Ahithophel was a king's counsellor: Hushai the Archite was the King's Friend. Ahithophel was succeeded by Jehoiada son of Benaiah, and Abiathar. Joab was commander of the army. 28 DAVID ASSEMBLED AT JERUSALEM all the officers of Israel, the officers over the tribes, over the divisions engaged in the king's service, over the units of a thousand and a hundred, and those in charge of all the property and the cattle of the king and of his sons, as well as the eunuchs, the heroes and all the men of ability. Then King David rose to his feet and said, 'Hear me, kinsmen and people. I have in mind to build a house as a resting-place for the Ark of th Covenant of the LORD which might serve as a footstool for the feet of our God, and I made preparations to build it. But God said to me, "You shall not build a house in honour of my name, for you have been a fighting man and you have shed blood." Nevertheless, the LORD the God of Israel chose me out of all my father's family to be king over Israel in perpetuity; for it was Judah that he chose as a ruling tribe, and, out of the house of Judah, my father's family; and among my fathers sons it was I whom was pleased to make king over all Israel. And out of all my sons——for the LORD gave me many sons——he chose Solomon to sit upon the throne of the LORD's sovereignty over Israel; and he said to me, "It is Solomon your son who shall build my house and my courts, for I have chosen him to be a son to me and I will be a father to him. I will establish his sovereignty in perpetuity, if only he steadfastly obeys my commandments and my laws as they are now obeyed." Now therefore, in the presence of all Israel, the assemmbly of the LORD, and within the hearing of our God, I bid you all study carefull the commandments of the LORD your God, that you may possess this good land and hand it down as an inheritance for all time to your children after you. And you, Solomon my son, acknowledge your father's God and serve him with whole heart and willing mind, for the LORD searches all hearts and discerns every invention of men's thoughts. If you search for him, he will let you find him, but if you forsake him, he will cast you off for ever. Remember, then, that the LORD has chosen you to build a house for a sanctuary: be steadfast and do it.' David gave Solomon his son the plan of the porch of the temple and its buildings, strong-rooms, roof-chambers and inner courts, and the shrine of expiation; also the plans of all he had in mind for the courts of the house of the LORD and for the rooms around it and for the stores of God's house and for the stores of the sacred gifts, for the divisions of the priests and the Levites, for all the work connected with the service of the house of the LORD and for all the vessels used in its service. He prescribed the weight of gold for all the gold vessels used in the various services, and the weight of silver for all the silver vessels used in the various services; and the weight of gold for the gold lamp-stands, the weight required for each lamp-stand and its lamps according to the use of each; and the weight of gold for each of the tables for the rows of the Bread of the Presence, and of silver for the silver tables. He prescribed also the weight of pure gold for the forks, tossing-bowls and cups, the weight of gold for each of the golden dishes and of silver for each of the silver dishes; the weight also of refined gold for the altar of incense, and of gold for the model of the chariot, that its cherubim with their wings outspread to screen the Ark of the Covenant of the LORD. 'All this was drafted by the LORD's own hand,' said David; 'my part was to consider the detailed working out of the plan.' Then David said to Solomon his son, 'Be steadfast and resolute and do it; be neither faint-hearted nor dismayed, for the LORD God, my God, will be with you; he will neither fail you nor forsake you, until you have finished all the work needed for the service of the house of the LORD. Here are the divisions of the priests and the Levites, ready for all the service of the house of God. In all the work you will have the help of every willing craftsman for any task; and the officers and all the people will be entirely at your command.' 29 King David then said to the whole assembly, 'My son Solomon is the one chosen by God, Solomon alone, a boy of tender years; and this is a great work, for it is a palace not for man but for the LORD God. Now to the best of my strength I have made ready for the house of my God gold for the gold work, silver for the silver, bronze for the bronze, iron for the iron, and wood for the woodwork, together with cornelian and other gems for setting, stones for mosaic work, precious stones of every sort, and marble in plenty. Further, because I delight in the house of my God, I give my own private store of gold and silver for the house of my God——over and above all the store which I have collected for the sanctuary——namely three thousand talents of gold, gold from Ophir, and seven thousand talents of fine silver for overlaying the walls of the buildings, for providing gold for the gold work, silver for the silver, and for any work to be done by skilled craftsmen. Now who is willing to give with open hand to the LORD today?' Then the heads of the families, the officers administrating the tribes of Israel, the officers over units of a thousand and a hundred, and the officers in charge of the king's service, responded willingly and gave for the work of the house of God five thousand talents of gold, ten thousand darics, ten thousand talents of sliver, eighteen thousand talents of bronze, and a hundred thousand talents of iron. Further, those who possessed precious stones gave them to the treasury of the house of the LORD, into the charge of Jehiel the Gershonite. The people rejoiced at this willing response, because in the loyalty of thheir hearts they had given willingly to the LORD; King David was also full of joy, and he blessed the LORD in the presence of all the assembly and said, 'Blessed art thou, LORD God of our father Israel, from of old and for ever. Thine, O LORD, is the greatness, the power, the glory, the splendour, and the majesty; for ever in heaven and on earth is thine; thine, O LORD, is the sovereignty, and thou art exalted over all as head. Wealth and honour come from thee; thou rulest over all; might and power are of thy disposing; thine it is togive power and strength to all. And now, we give thanks, our God, and praise thy glorious name. But what am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to give willingly like this? For everything comes from thee, and it is only of thy gifts that we give to thee. We are aliens before thee and settlers, as were all our fathers; our days on earth are like a shadow, we have no abiding place. O LORD our God, from thee comes all this wealth that we have laid up to build a house in honour of thy holy name, and everything is thine. I know, O my God, that thou dost test the heart and that plain honesty pleases thee; with an honest heart I have given thee all these gifts willingly, and have rejoiced now to see thy people here present give willingly to thee. O LORD God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel our fathers, maintain this purpose for ever in thy people's thoughts and direct their thoughts toward thyself. Grant that Soloman my son may loyally keep thy commandments, thy solemn charge, and they stautes, that he may fulfil them all and build the palace for which I have prepared.' Then, turning to the whole assembly, David said, 'Now bless the LORD your God.' o all the assembly blessed the LORD the God of their fathers, bowing low and prosttrating themselves before the LORD and theking. The next day they sacrificed to the LORD and offered whole-offerings to him, a thousand oxen and a thousand rams, a thousand lamb, with the prescribed drink-offerings, and abundant sacrifices for all Israel. So they ate and drank before the LORD that day with great rejoicing. They then appointed Solomon, David's son, king a second time and anointed him as the LORD's prince, and Zadok as priest. So Solomon sat on the LORD's throne as king in place of his father David, and he prospered and all Israel obeyed him. All the officers and the warriors, as well as all the sons of King David, swore fealty to King Solomon. The LORD made Solomon stand very high in the eyes of all Israel, and bestowed upon him sovereignty such as no king in Israel had had before him. David son of Jesse had ruled over the whole of Israel, and the length of his reign over Israel was forty years; he ruled for seven years in Hebron, and for thirty-three in Jerusalem. He died in ripe old age, full of years, wealth, and honour; and Solomon his son ruled in his place. The events of King David's reign from first to last are recorded in th books of Samuel the seer, of Nathan the prophet, and of Gad the seer, with a full acount of his reign, his prowess, and of the times through which he and Israel and all the kingdoms of the world had passed.

One Winged Devil vs Atlas

The crowd applauds Jarfolomew as he slowly walks to the back, his head down. But they all know what's next. One Winged Devil's music hits and out comes the inaugural FBE World Heavyweight Champion! The lights all turn red and the music, coupled with the red lighting, goves off a dark, unforgiving feel. He makes his way down to the ring and waits for his opponent. But it's not Levitate that plays, it's https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HDI9inno86U Fairly Local by Twenty One Pilots! After Atlas revealed that he had become The Devil, the crowd anticipate even more what's going to happen next, but suddenly, the lights cut out. And when they return, Atlas is standing behind OWD in the ring! OWD turns around and immediately backs away, seeing Atlas' new look. He has died his hair blonde and wears red facepaint covering his whole body. His signature white, black and red tights are replaced with just dark red, with bits of black here and there. The main art on his body is the sapphire sword painted on his back, looking even more menacing than ever. Atlas laughs at OWD and the bell rings. The match is full of high spots immediately as Atlas goes to the top rope for an Infinity Elbow, but OWD joins him on the top and hits him with a Poisoned Frankensteiner from the top rope to the canvas! 1, 2, kick out! Atlas then later regained momentum when OWD had the Devil's Asylum in, but Atlas lifted him up and planted him down with a Powerbomb onto his knees, followed by a Gunsmoke Knee which busts OWD open! 1, 2, no, kick out! The next spot saw OWD lying on the apron. Atlas then climbed to the top rope and went for an Infinity Elbow but OWD moved out of the way, sending Atlas crashing down hard onto the apron back-first! We then find Atlas and OWD fighting on the announcer's desk, and Atlas is able to get OWD up for a Rogue Driver, and he hits it through the announcer's table! Atlas then in the ring locks in the Rogue Lock, but OWD escapes and nails him with a vicious Superkick to the face, which leaves Atlas bleeding on the mat. And then finally in the 22nd minute of this crazy World Title Match, Atlas has OWD up for a Night Terror Buster, but OWD reverses it into a Devil's DysTopia! 1, 2, 3! OWD has done it! Once OWD had left with the World Title, Atlas slowly got back up using the ropes and demanded a mic from the timekeeper's area. "I may have lost tonight, but motherfuckers I still have a tag team title shot next week on Firestorm with u/ReceiverofDeception and whoever the fuck we're facing, it doesn't matter, we will be crowned your new FBE Tag Team Champs. And once I've won that title, I will be using my rematch clause for the Intercontinental Title! Firestorm XXVI! u/ConorCulture you better ready for the Infinity King when he comes for you! Oh yeah, and one last thing FBE faithful... STAY SHIT!" he shouts through the mic before leaving the arena.

School sucks, I'm tired.

[sorry if it's too long...]

How do I even start? I'm just mentally and physically tired. Because of school. I've become so sick because of it. It's gotten to the point where every inch of my body aches when I get up in the morning and when I come home from school. I'm skipping school tomorrow because I'm exhausted and I want to properly rest.

The school doesn't care about their students. I hurt my knee pretty badly because I got pushed and rammed my kneecap into a table corner and it's really been hurting since then. Still, they won't let me not do PE. While in class I was in so much pain. the teacher saw it. That asshole didn't say a word. (sorry if I sound too entitled, I'm just mad he can't understand.)

The teacher is always putting pressure on me and my classmates by saying stuff like "our class needs to have the highest grades" "why can't you morons just study the damn thing?!" "your parents must be so disappointed" and so on. She's very judgemental and doesn't understand that, KAREN, I HAD A DOCTOR'S APPOINTMENT so I couldn't come to school! I think health first, not a fucking number that's written on a piece of paper that's supposed to "reflect the student's intellect".

Civics/history teacher keeps picking on me because of my nails, hoodies, untied hair, hell even my fucking leg length when I told her that I'd like to be a dancer - she considers herself kind because she gives the answers to her tests but doesn't let kids actually learn, instead she makes them learn WORD BY WORD every single thing they wrote down and will yell at them for any major inconvenience or any mistake they made. the whole school hates her. all she does is pick on me, yell, talk about queen (as in the band) and asks us to go with her to the pharmacy, bank, supermarket etc for NO Reason. She's a very bad teacher, but I was told by my grandma that all she does is right because she's a teacher. Im so mad, who even thought of making her a teacher?

The school decided that this year we will have to wear this fugly extremely saturated blue polo shirt that they consider a uniform. Because "everyone kept coming to school wearing different types of clothing (price wise) and it made the other less fortunate students feel left out." okay you goblin, did the concept of people living a completely different life than yours scare you? Does it make you shiver when you hear the words" different, clothing, price"? I don't get this. Yeah we're here to learn, not to have a fashion show. But we can learn while wearing our usual clothes, right? Right?...

They ask for money for everything. Janitor's stuff (bleach, mops etc), uniforms, books, supplies for the art rooms, air conditioners (which nobody agreed on but they put them in anyway), chalk, markers, fucking toilet paper, soap etc. It looks like that's all they care about - cash.

How can keep up with this? That school couldn't give a single fuck about anything. If we told any teacher about how we feel they'd just tell us something like "it's real world". They can't take facts from people they feel are inferior, they can't take it if we told them what we actually think about anything or how we really feel. They don't expect us to have actual emotions. We're students, after all, huh? According to a majority of adult figures, all we should prioritize right now is studying, studying and studying.

How.

[WT!] Golden Kamuy - A delicious hotpot of many genres

Anime: Golden Kamuy

Studio: Geno Studio

Year: 2018

Length: 24 episodes (12 per season)

What is Golden Kamuy about?

Golden Kamuy takes place in Hokkaido at the start of the 20th century. The story follows ex-soldier Sugimoto who in search of gold in Hokkaido hears about a rumor concerning a huge hidden stash of stolen Ainu gold. He later finds Asirpa, an Ainu girl who saves his life from a bear. She knows of the stolen gold as well and they quickly decide to team up to find it, each wanting it for their own personal reasons. However, they are far from the only ones who are hunting for the gold as a group of escaped convicts and an army division also have their eyes on the riches.

Why should I watch Golden Kamuy?

One of the most striking things about Golden Kamuy is the amount of genres it has. Whilst it would probably be most accurate to call it an adventure anime primarily, it also most certainly is an action, comedy, drama, historical and cooking show as well. Not to mention even genres like mystery, romance and horror do show up. When all that combined sounds like quite a mess with a show only having so few episodes, Golden Kamuy somehow manages to pull it off sublimely, being able to successfully pull off the genre transitions time after time.

There is a lot of action in the show, which can be very tense. Characters are able to get lasting injuries with some even biting the dust. A lot of the characters, including minor characters are quite capable in combat as well, making you never put at ease at what could possibly develop from these encounters. Because characters don't kick the bucket so easily the action becomes quite brutal, where losing some fingers is merely a minor inconvenience. Additionally there is plenty of outsmarting each other, making the action further interesting.

Then you also got the comedy, which is one of the most bizarre style of comedy I've seen. It's not just the jokes themselves that can get completely absurd, but how it can follow any scene as well. Whether it'll be a character almost trying to kill someone else, some historical worldbuilding or after quite a dramatic moment, nowhere is safe from it appearing. And as it happens, it works very well because it's so unexpected. Somehow you're quick to accept this high contrast, even with the show's humour getting crazier and crazier.

It's not often you get a historical show either, especially one based on true events. Whilst the show is taking some liberties with historical facts, the show is very accurate in depicting the time and place of the time period. Especially interesting is to hear all about the Ainu folk, an indigenous group of people who primarily live in Hokkaido. The way you learn about their way of life, their beliefs and mythology do form the heart of the show, which the show also provides plenty of attention to.

Another point that gets a lot of focus is food. Whether it's to show all the intricacies of the hunting style from the Ainu, where each part of the animal gets used as well. It can furthermore be used to showing characters bonding (with some mixture of comedy usually as well) providing a reprieve for all the action. Or it gets used as an introduction to one of the dramatic backstories from the characters where the food in question also played a major role. It's this level of detail that only immerses you more into the world.

The characters are another very strong point of Golden Kamuy. With a large and varied cast, each character even if they'll only appear in a few episodes, stand out very fast with their quirky personalities and have satisfying character arcs as well. They all have their own personal goals to retrieve the stolen gold, and the story stays unpredictable thanks to how some of the characters' allegiances switch during the story. Additionally, watching them all interact never ceases to be interesting with how unique they all are. Coupled all that with two strong leads, who are each going through their moments of strength and weakness and also form a great team thanks to their chemistry.

Music is as well in good hands thanks to the brilliant composer Kenichiro Suehiro, whose most notable soundtracks include Re:Zero and Girls' Last Tour. Golden Kamuy is not on the same level as these, but it does serve its purpose very well. For starters, the music for the journey itself serves its part to get immersed in this great adventure, and was a great way to end the first episode with. The action scenes are either on the tense side like this, sounding like a dance with others and sometimes even just a complete chaos track that absolutely fits how crazy this show can get. More than the action though, it's the build up towards it that tends to be more memorable. Whenever a certain menacing character appears, making the atmosphere feel tense all the way through or a slow and creepy track that gets more intense until the very end. However, it's with the Ainu music Suehiro shines through, whether to present a peaceful town setting, a calm track for the nature, a silly all around music piece or being like a dance altogether. The absolute best though, as with his previous works, are his emotional pieces which couldn't convey the sadness any better. There is just some forlorn sound to it which represents the lost peaceful moments of the past so well, making it hard not to get emotional whilst hearing it, especially with what it gets paired with.

Not only the music is nice, but so are the OPs and EDs. Having veterans like Man With a Mission providing quite the melancholic opening befitting the style of the period and the start of a journey, and Sayuri (with My First Story) providing the OP for the second season, which is a lot more focused in its story and captures all the varying aspects of the show beautifully. For the EDs, the show also utilizes them very well by very often playing them before the credits roll. Both sung by two bands who hadn't made any anime songs before, The Sixth Lie sings the first ED, which did a terrific job making episodes end with a lasting cliffhanger making you want more. For the second ED, eastern youth delivers a powerful song that instead of making you feel hyped for the next one, it makes you feel cathargic after some very strong episodes.

This show certainly isn't without its fair share of criticism though. The most famous one being the bear CGI that feels horribly out of place. Thankfully, the bears only appear for small moments in the show, which makes it tolerable. Another main criticism however isn't that easy to ignore, which you may have already guessed with the animation and art itself being rather lackluster. It's not particularly awful, but it never really gets a chance to shine through and it does hurt at certain action scenes. If it's your first time watching though, the story and innovative action scenes can allow you to not notice it as badly. The second season is also a general improvement in production qualities. Finally, the anime isn't adapting everything, with the first season cutting mostly small things and the second season cutting quite a few little arcs. On the flip side, this does allow the second season to have a clear focus compared to the first season and therefore a very climatic finale that certainly left an impression.

One of the biggest reasons why the anime resonated so much with me was because of the drama. Sugimoto coming back from a war certainly has left mental scars on him, and the question whether he'll ever be able to return to his former self and find happiness remains a big unknown throughout the show. Meanwhile Asirpa has to worry about the future of the Ainu herself, and the mystery of the stolen Ainu gold gets more complex as the show goes on. It's not just the content of the plot, but as well as the absolutely stellar voice acting that accompanies it selling the dramatic moments. The show also knows very well when and when not the music should play during these moments, making it as dramatic as possible. Not knowing how these plotlines will end up and growing very fond of these characters made it such a satisfying watch.

Final thoughts

It's certainly not a show for everyone despite its amounts of genres, but if any of this sounds interesting or exciting to you I wholeheartedly recommend this show. It was a wild ride from start to finish, and it being able to absolutely nail the last episode of the second season made it quite convincingly my favourite anime from 2018.

Adopted at Birth: How I reconnected with my Biological Family

I wanted to share my story with you so that I can perhaps help others locate biological family. I realize that not everyone's story and circumstances are exactly like mine, but I do hope to inspire creativity in your search as well as perseverance. After all, every one who was adopted knows that there is always an innate longing for self-discovery. While I could provide much more detail, I don't want to make a long story longer, so please bear with me and thank you for reading:

Background: I am a male of 28 years of age and was born in 1990. My older brother, 30, was born in 1989. We are biological brothers and we were adopted together in a closed adoption through the Texas Department of State Health Services. Our adoptive parents were very transparent about it, ever since I can recall. When we were in late childhood and early adolescence, we had questions, of course. I recall both of us, specifically my brother, feeling somewhat ostracized by our adoptive extended family and our adoption and lack of resemblance definitely seemed like the obvious alternative. My adoptive mother had basically told us that our biological mother was a prostitute and was addicted to drugs, that our father was not listed on either of our birth certificates, and that she was probably dead. My brother and I were intrigued and while my adoptive parents were not opposed to us searching, they did tell us that in order to find them, we would need to be 18.

I recall years ago asking questions and while I think there was some level of transparency, my adoptive mom was pretty guarded about it and exclaimed that it was a closed adoption so we did not have a lot of information. We begged her to show us the documentation probably when I was about 13. She was able to find her name and a general background on her, a description of what she looked like, and that was that. It was clear, to me, that my adoptive parents would not facilitate our search, but that my brother and/or I would need to be eighteen years of age before we could get further. My brother would often incite in me a passion of rediscovering them by discussing it at length with me. While he was often the person to load the idea gun, he usually asked me to pull the trigger.

My brother turned 18 in 2007: I was still 16. I reminded him that he could officially commence a search to find them. He is generally more of an introvert and while he had capability of doing so, he did not act. After several mentions and impending inactivity, I realized I would need to do it myself.

I turned 18 in 2008: It was either the day I turned 18 or shortly afterwards that I signed up on multiple adoption registries to try to find my biological mother. Very few were free to use, and only having a debit card at the time, I decided it was not worth my while to sign up for a membership when I searched high and low using her first and last name to get a lead, but it was all for naught. I would check up occasionally over the next couple years, but realized I would need a more robust and likely costly solution to pin down any answers. With college being imminent and my ability to do anything about it being limited, I shrugged it off under self-assured expectations that she was probably deceased and that a few years would not make a difference in the grand scheme of things, since already nothing had materialized.

Discovery in 2012: I can't remember why exactly, but I had a specific health question as it related to medical issues on a day I was at work. I asked my adoptive mom to look through what she had on my adoption in hopes of finding anything useful. I lived about 5 - 6 hours away from my adoptive parents at this time (in Forth Worth, TX), so I was not able to review them myself. My adoptive mom started reading the information and was reminiscing on it. At this point, she was reading it very objectively, trying to find information. She read more details that I was not aware of from before, with content about her mother and maternal grandmother and also specifics about my brother being abused. The most interesting find, though, was what she found written on the top of court documents...

Back in 1989 and 1990, clerically, there was a lot of redacting and information-obscuring that was required in order to officiate this adoption and also give my parents sufficient information on our background. However, this was also an adoption case through the state where, likely, a lack of funding, and even more likely, a lack of concern, went in to the redacting of said documents. By 2012, information that was blacked out with what my adoptive mom described as a "sharpee" was now visible, including my biological mother's Social Security Number. She read the number off to me and a spark of hope ignited that I might be able to find her.

Immediately, I hopped online to see that I could, in fact, verify the number against the Death Master File (from the Social Security Administration) to determine whether or not she was dead or alive. "She's certainly dead," I thought to myself. I found a website that required me to pay $2.99, which I deemed a sound investment. I entered the number, pressed the button and my heart fluttered. According to the website, she was deceased. "No surprise," I thought, "I wonder when." as I looked down, I read that the owner was deceased in "2012." It was 2012... I was devastated. All senses of hope I had vanished and instant regret and the five stages of grief washed over me as I bawled. I compartmentalized it all ( I was also at work) and within the hour, I contacted my brother and told him. I tried to do as much independent research as I could, but I needed back-up. Through another premium membership to access information about the SSN, I found a residence associated with it in Dallas, TX, which also gave us her middle name and date of birth. Funny since I lived in the DFW, but not surprising since I was adopted from there. My brother sent me a link to her obituary, where all the information matched. The ministry that held her funeral was literally less than 2 miles from where I was. I immediately left work and knew I had to go there.

While I was on the way, I called the ministry asking if anyone who might have known her was there and that I was her biological son etc. I was told that there was someone there who did know her and that she would be happy to meet me. I walked in and they knew immediately that I was her son. They mentioned that my biological mother had spent her later years in halfway and community houses and died of cirrhosis of the liver. They gave me the number of the community house she last lived at and told me that a friend of hers still lived there. I called immediately and the director told me I could stop by the next day. I didn't skip a beat and went the very next day. I was fortunate enough to meet a woman who knew my mother in the very last days who allegedly was very close to her. She started crying when we spoke. I could tell she had been afflicted by substances, but was trying to take her at her word.

She described my biological mother and told me countless information about her medical history, she told me that our mother talked about me and my brother. She told me about my biological mother's mother and her mother and about my mother's father and about who she conjectured mine and my Brother's father to be. She gave me a few additional resources and I explored them to the best of my abilities, including trying to reach out to her case worker, but in vain, I was not able to get very far and with this woman's brain being somewhat fried, simple names and other information was not clear. She did hold onto some of my biological mother's assets including a journal and her driver's license, which she gave to me. Of the information she did give that I was able to verify, included: the death of my biological mother's mother and her mother (I found an obituary from 1992) and I was able to find her biological father's name, who I assumed was probably also deceased. I was extremely grateful for my biological mother's friend and appreciative of the role she had near the end of my biological mother's life, but it was as far as I could go at the time without hiring a lawyer or trying to prove the man who she thought my father was, was in fact him. I was at a stalemate, but for the time, I was content.

Culmination in 2019: I got laid off from my job the last day of August. Aside from actively trying to find a new one, I knew I needed other interests to fill my time and give me a sense of stimulation. After receiving a request on 23andme from a distant (4th cousin) to connect and share DNA, it sparked my interest to refine my own history. I decided to sign up on Ancestry.com for a premium membership with a more than likely inclination to cancel after the free trial. I started creating a family tree. Now I knew my biological mother, I could add her and I knew my biological grandmother's name. I found my biological mother's birth certificate and my biological Grandfather was listed on it. To my surprise, his first and middle name legally were inverted. I could not go further on his side, so started mapping my maternal grandmother's lineage. As I started going as well as trying to find adoptive family information, I realized that it was a lot easier to find information over dead relatives than living relatives. Then I came back to my biological mother's father... I couldn't find a birth certificate or death certificate, even knowing his birth date... Could he be alive?

From recent reference, I remembered the website Truepeoplesearch.com as an active directory with multiple carriers' clients' information. It's a tool that I personally use all the time when a number texts me that I do not know or I want to try to get someone's number based on their name or address. I decided to enter my biological mother's father's name to see if anything popped up. Based on the records of his birthday in 1940, I knew he was either 78 or 79. I did a mass search with his name (fairly common) in Texas and I found a person who was 78. It listed several numbers and addresses on it that might have been his or someone else's. Per usual, the first phone number listed is the most likely wireless number with landlines and previous numbers listed beneath. Of course, I could in no way, know if this was him, but I decided to text it anyway.

I went ahead and texted the number trying to be as direct and not creepy as possible. The number simply replied that it did not know who I was trying to reach, but this wasn't it. With my biological grandfather being older, I also realized that it's possible he only used a landline, so I called it. No answer. I looked at the directory again to see "Associated Names," which is a section at the bottom that often nails people related or associated with the person. I saw a female's name I did not recognize at the top, but with all the other names seeming irrelevant or belonging to people who I thought might have just been lumped in based on a common name, I decided to do a quick google search to find her and I found her obituary from 2014. From the obituary, I was able to parse out who was who in her "Associated Names" and determined that of all the people listed, I would try to go with who I thought was the youngest and most likely to be active through text, her nephew. I found his information and sent a text listing my association with his Aunt. I received a call back within 10 minutes.

With butterflies, I answered it. He confirmed that his mother's sister was married to who I thought my biological grandfather was. He said he knew that he had been remarried before twice, but that after his Aunt's death, he did not stay in contact with him just due to how introverted he was. He briefly described a troubled past that seemed to align with what I understood to be true from my biological mother's friend. Even though I was not 100%, I had a feeling it was him. The nephew told me he would try to find someone I could get in contact with, but said if I was willing to wait, he could drive by their old house and find an address. He also mentioned that he had a son with a very similar name and that while he did not have his phone number, he would probably be the best person to reach. Instantly, I went back to the original Truepeoplesearch.com page and found his son's page. Without waiting, I sent a text. About 2 hours later, I received a reply asking how I got his information, so I told him a condensed version of the how with a disclaimer that he had no obligation to assist, but that I was looking for answers. He texted back that he thinks he can help me and asked if I could take call later. I obliged and spent a couple hours patiently waiting. I got the call.

I answered and he described that my biological mother was his half-sister, but that he was adopted as well by his second wife (My grandmother was the first). He mentioned that being 14 years younger than she, he did not spend a lot of time with her. He said that his father was still alive and that he had often asked about my brother and I. I asked if he would be open to speaking and he said he would ask him. We spent about an hour on the phone, talking about my biological mother and her father and everything he possibly knew. He wanted to know about us personally so I divulged and asked him as well. The conversation ended that he would get back in touch with me ASAP after he talked to his dad and conceded that he was kind of like my half uncle. We traded pictures of everyone and I called my brother and told him to be on standby. I spent a good hour studying my grandfather, trying to pickup resemblance, likeness, and understanding.

A few hours later, "my half uncle" texted that our Grandfather would like to speak to us and that when he implied that someone reached out to him out of the blue, he knew immediately it was us. He gave us his number and said he was available. I called my brother who was eating a hamburger and told him I was going to conference him into a call with him. A voice answered and said, "Hello." I responded with my name and my brother's name and introduced myself. He said he wondered if we would ever try to reach out and alluded to the fact that he wanted to know more, but knew that we must have a thousand questions, so he said he wanted to help answer anything he could. I had so many questions written down in fact, but nowhere technically did I have the first question that came out of my mouth, "How was she?" We talked for about 2 hours, learning about each other, learning about the past, learning about the present, learning about medical history. We agreed to stay in touch and I learned that not only did he have a Facebook account, but he was an artist who also had his art listed on Facebook. Almost as paramount, I asked about hair loss as A. I knew hair loss is mainly inherited through the Maternal Grandfather and B. I had not seen a picture of his hair without a hat. To my delight, he had a full head of hair. Whew! We agreed to say connected and he just accepted my Facebook request.

Summary: After living a life in an alternative reality, I can't begin to describe the purity of re-connecting to your biological roots. All the same, it's foreign. It's almost like re-learning a motor skill after a tragedy. I encourage anyone who is trying to search for answers to be as resourceful as possible. I realize not everyone is as fortunate as I am to re-connect and not everyone has the information, means, or resources to do so. I do think back and wonder if I had discovered who my mother was even one year before if I meeting her would have been fulfilling or if, considering the circumstances, I would have been taxed with responsibility of her affairs leading up to her death and become embittered by it. More than ever, I am very thankful for my adoptive parents for raising me and giving me a life I would not have had. Adoption is truly an amazing testament of love for all parties involved and I understand this now more than ever before. With some official detective work under my belt, maybe I've been in the wrong industry all along.
