Halp! I can’t figure out my type

Hi all,

I’m very fascinated by the enneagram and spent the last six months thinking I was a two, but now I’m starting to doubt that. While I’m very relationally driven, the “need to be needed” foundation of a two doesn’t quite resonate with me. I started taking tests again, and I feel like I get a different type nearly every time. In addition to a 2, I’ve been typed as a 1, 3, 4, 6, 7, and 9. 🤔

Can you all help me nail down my type?

•My emotional well-being is deeply affected by the stability of my relationships with those I love most (closest friends, husband, immediate family). If those are off, I’m off as a whole.

•I’m really great at recognizing patterns of thoughts and behaviors in others, but horrible at seeing those in myself, especially in real time.

•I love people. I’m studying marriage and family therapy because it aligns so well with my core values of connectedness and empathy.

•As much as I love people, I’m also fearful of AND fascinated with the darker side of humanity. My love of true crime books/podcasts is strong, and this contributes to my anxiety. For example, I sleep with a covered knife under my pillow and pack an alarm keychain with me... just in case 🙃

•I’ve always had an appreciation for sad or emotional art in many forms. Music, movies, books... I like the depth and authenticity that comes with the vulnerability of it.

•If I’m being honest, I spend more time planning self-improvement strategies (routines, habit tracking, workouts/diets, budgeting, etc.) than I do actually implementing them.

•I love novelty. Traveling, trying new restaurants, meeting new people, etc.

•As much as I love people and socializing, I also need alone time often in order to recharge. Spending time with people inspires me, but spending time alone heals me. I always score around 50% on introvert/extrovert spectrum scales.

•I get overwhelmed and anxious if too many people are talking at once. I like more intimate, in-depth gatherings than I do crazy party scenes for that reason.

Analyze me! Tell me what you think.
