Absolute beginner here! I have never owned minis before this last Christmas, when I bought Kingdom Death for myself as a long-overdue present. I absolutely love the game, and I found myself loving the miniatures aspect far more than I expected, and want to start doing them more justice on the table.
As the game purchase itself has already put me back, I have been looking for a budget entry point into mini painting, just to get started. In the Tools Of The Trade sticky, I found links to cheaper airbrushes (<$100) and other tools online from Aliexpress in China, and am now waiting for them to arrive in the mail. What I did not consider is the air compressor will have Chinese outlet needs... Air Brush plus Compressor Kit
The Question: Has anyone else had experience using Chinese/International painting equipment in their home country? I've been trying to find plug adaptors online, but everything I'm seeing allows for using US electronics in China, not using Chinese electronics in the US.
A (Probably Bad) Idea: As the compressor has a 'wall wart' plug, I'm considering simply swapping out the wart for one of the many extras I've got in my misc cords drawer. Outside of testing to make sure the polarity is correct, is these anything else I should watch for to avoid any undue explosions? Does anyone have any particular experience/feedback in that arena?
I appreciate any insight you may have! I'm itching to get started, but I also don't want to start a housefire :)
