Absolutely wholesome!

Finally got around to read MP100 after watching the first season of the anime and became hooked on it. Initially I followed OPM (Murata's redrawn) before discovering that One also did another manga. Not gonna lie, I was put off at first by the crappy art style and tried to get through the first chapter like 3 times before giving up.

I finished the entire story a few minutes ago and let's just say it was a really emotional ride for me. I guess this is just going to be letting my feelings out about this manga, and what better place than here, I guess. Here goes:

The points that One touched on and watching Mob go through these experiences as a naïve middle-schooler who is just so kind because of what he is capable as a person with such powers, battling and/or overcoming/accepting the circumstances are just so real that I cried buckets. The comedy is on point, although I guess some of them went over my head because it might be a Japanese comedy thing? Not too sure, probably it got lost in translation from Japanese to English.

The characters are well-fleshed out that it doesn't seem like their ONLY reason for being there to propel the story forward - it's great to see how they have their own struggles and responses to situations that it feels really natural for me. One of the great things about the villains in the arcs is the part how they integrate back into society, it's funny, heart-warming and plausible.

It's like one of those manga far and few in between that wraps so nicely that you sit, and stare off into space or out the window for a few moments...just absorbing the experience and the pretty compelling story you just went through from beginning to end. Even now tidbits of advice and lessons of the story just resonates a part of my life that it kinda puts me at ease? Not sure if I described my feeling for this wholesome manga right 😅

The confession and the final nail to Mob's character development made me cry ugly tears the most. I knew he was going to get turned down from the flashbacks and the entire buildup to his breakdown, but actually reading the few panels of him going to see her with that flower, and then coming back with that flower saying he got rejected...it was heartbreaking but like what Reigen said, these things happen. Mad props to Tsubomi-chan for waiting and giving an honest answer to Mob like that. And Mob's attitude to her response.

There are just so many things in this manga that I want to dive into and discuss, but this post is getting a bit long, so thank you to anyone who bothered to read it to the end.
