Got my first grant (!!!) and looking for advice on STEM materials

So I am THRILLED to have gotten my first grant and I'm going to have a good chunk of change to spend on STEM materials to support an 8 session "Meet the Makers" type of program. Each session will feature a member of our community who works in a STEM related field and who will talk about how they use STEM skills in their every day life. I will then lead the kids/caregivers in an activity related to that field before allowing some open-ended "makerspace" time.

I would like for as many of the materials as possible to be reusable so that this awesome learning can extend far beyond the 8 weeks.

What I have planned:

Cooking and Baking Exploring the science behind it and also math skills (fractions and measuring). Most of the money for this will be spent on consumable ingredients, with some for cooking supply basics.

Woodworking and Engineering Wood (obviously) and tools - I would like to do "string art" one day to work on hammering skills and provide a hammer for each child. Wood glue, screws, nails, etc. will be purchased as well.

Computer Programming/Engineering I definitely want to get some kind of programmable robot or two. I would LOVE input on these, since there are so many on the market. I would prefer ones that don't require a computer, but tablet or smartphones are fine.

Electricity I plan on purchasing a few SnapCircuit sets since we've borrowed some from another library and they've been very popular. We're also going to work on renewable energy - maybe solar powered toy cars?

Any suggestions for materials for the above categories that your library has purchased and used would be great! I would love for things that are durable and can be reused for future programs.
