A farewell to passion and quality.

First and FOREMOST I want to thank every single developer, creator and engineer who poured their passion and time into this game. Everything from the coding to the art, design, animation and sound (and more). I have invested more time into HotS over the past 4 years than any other game. And for that we sincerely thank you.

Like many of you, I have seen this game evolve time and time again. Since early beta access I have been here for every buff and every nerf, for every instance of praise and for every instance of outcry.

To me, this amazing game actually did feel like a "love letter" to all of our favorite Blizzard games. It always FELT like HotS was a passion project. A project that wasn't about becoming the next AAA title or using it as a platform to line the company's pockets.

I don't want to rant (and I'm not going to), but to myself and the other amazing people I have the pleasure of playing with over the years, this legitimately feels like the last nail in the coffin for Blizzard and a farewell to their last passion project. It is becoming increasingly clear that quantity and profitability are taking precedence over quality.

This shit feels so bad man.
