thonebreaker literally blew my expectations out of the water

It's rare I find a game THIS good. I knew the basic gist of what Thronebreaker would be, an rpg where the battles are decided by gwent matches. But I had no idea it would be THIS good.

for starters - the art design and visuals are fantastic - the soundtrack, holy cow its amazing. its over an hour, for a $30 rpg card game, this sound track is easily a 10 - the characters, wow, modern game studios need to take cues from CDPR on how to write characters. nobody feels like a cliche or token, each character is written well, especially meve. just great writing all around. makes me wish CDPR would write the modern halo games

and now to get onto the last part - the gameplay is fantastic. I didn't think they could come up with so much variety, but each puzzle encounter has me saying to myself, "how did they make this so fun and engaging?" the encounters are extremely well designed. I thought there would be repetetive use of cards/encounters but there isn't. the one nitpick I have in the entire game is the enemy doesn't use enough gold cards and its a little too easy even on the hardest difficulty, though i'm a gwent nerd so I expected as much.

I rarely do this, and I can't remember the last time I've done this, but I'm gonna have to give this game a 10. The last time I gave a game a 10 was halo 2 and smash melee. this card RPG is now the third game I've given a 10 and ive played tons of games. I bought it on GOG and was like "eh, will probably be like an 8" but nope, CDPR outdid themselves. It's absolutely worth $30. it nails everything that's actually important, story, writing, soundtrack, and gameplay. and to top it off, the graphics are nice too.

edit: also, PLEASE DO NOT DISCUSS SPOILERS IN THIS THREAD
