If youre scrolling r/tf2 theres plenty of posts along the lines of "Im suprised this game isnt dead", "no devs, game dies soon", and "how soon until tf2 is forgotten?"
If there was EVER a game in existance to outlast its dev support, that game is TF2. The TF2 competative scene is still rolling, theres plenty of content creators and bountiful amound of amazingly talented model and map makers.
TF2 has the potential to live solely on community energy. Ffs we made an entire community made MvM update. Theres a team and servers dedicated to custom weapon balancing. Ill argue tooth and nail our community is the best out of any other game, Ive never seen any game with such a thriving community while its game has had a dwindling lifeline.
TF2 is a pure work of art compared to other FPS games. If you want the game to die, youre better off in another community. Every TF2 player I know is a true fan of the game who enjoys the simplicity that simple casual games bring.
As long as TF2 has a community, TF2 is alive.
