I've been having a rough go of it until recently. I just wanted to share some advice that helped me and I hope it does good for others.

Distractions. I know it sucks that it literally comes down to don't think about it. If you picked up a hot coal and it burned you, would you go pick that coal up again? You can try to reason with the coal, but it won't change. So do anything and everything that takes your mind off of them.

Be creative. You probably have some more free time now. Take all these emotions you're feeling and make something beautiful from it. I personally love to write but after graduating and realizing a Bachelor's degree in English doesn't go far career- wise I stopped for a while. My ex left me in August and I have never written so much in my life. You like to paint? Do it. Draw? Play music? Dance? DO IT NOW you won't regret it, art is emotional and you are stocked up on all kinds of emotions.

Talk to people. I'm not a fan of rushing out to find someone new. Being alone is good for all of us. It will suck sometimes, I know that isolating feels better, you're a wounded animal who wants to be with the one you love or no one at all. Sometimes bad company can make you miss your ex even more, I know this. There are others out there who can put a smile on your face though, whether it's a buddy, a sibling, your nail tech, someone you meet on reddit, just find someone you enjoy talking to.

Breathe. Take notes people. Breathing exercises literally calm you down. It's not a trick or hippy dippy bullshit. You don't have to meditate or anything, let's not get too crazy lol When the anxiety and pain kicks in and there's nothing else to do try this. Take a long deep breath for 5 seconds and hold it for 5 seconds. Let it out for 5 seconds, and hold that for 5 seconds. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat. Your body will relax. It's not magical. I wish I could tell you it takes the pain away. This is an amazing tool for finding your peace again though, it pulls you out of the feelings flooding you body with bad vibes and you won't act on your emotions.
