Cycle 18 - Best photo each week and Who should have been sent home

After watching cycle 18, I am finding that I am not in agreement with many of the judges choices (surprise surprise) so I have comprised my list of best photo and worst photo along with who should have gone home each week.

Week 1: American and British Public Figures in 3D

In fairness, this photo shoot was very bizarre to mean, theme wise. Be a person that exists/existed but don't be too much like them, re-invent the wheel on their persona. Never a good combo. However, Kyle was technically in the bottom 2 this week and I never understood why since technically in a few episodes later they reference this photo as being a well done one of hers. She makes it a dynamic shot and you can still get the feel of Andy Warhol. Jasmia on the other hand has a big personailty to embody and truthfully no good way to do so. Her leaving first was actually the right pick.

Week 2: Toddlers from Jenner Family

This shoot was so frustrating. Be Kris Jenner's baby. What.In.The.Flying.Heck kind of concept is that? The set was a mess and there was truly no true "know" for what was expected of them. Truthfully, Azmarie's tattoos should have been covered for the "baby" feel, not ot mention Kris Jenner in the photos is super stiff and has minor interaction with the girls making some shots seem bland. Laura at least was creative while looking amazing and if it wasn't for her awesome shot Candace would have had my favorite photo. Seymone easily belonged in the bottom two but I would have also put Eboni with her. Seymone just stared at the camera with her eyes bugging out and no real expression. Zero interaction with the set.

Week 3: Very Campaign

There were honestly quite a few weak photos this week as well as quite a few good ones. Azmarie looks hot and knows how to sell clothing through a picture. Sophie is right on her heels for the best shot. The only reason Az wins best photo in my book is that she is appealing to men and women and in the fashion world more is better. Kyle on the other hand looks like a deer in headlights. This is when she began just staring into the camera with no expression and zero drive, and it shows. She looks like a rag doll and not the fashionable kind.

Week 4: British Hats and American Cars

Laura for me has the best shot with Azmarie coming in as a close second. This photo shoot overall though was weak for most of the girls and only those two really stood out to me. Laura just pulled out a sexy but vulnerable shot that would appeal to so many and gorgeous on top of that! Azmarie was all sex appeal and as much as I love tattoos, this is another instance where covering them would have pushed the photo further or adding to the tats to give it a full look. The red lip also seems off on her. Seymone is really just sitting there. I can barely see her outfit so she clearly isn't trying to sell it.

Week 5: Maple Leaves and Syrup

Eboni earned her first call out. In fact I think this is her best picture she took the whole competition. It is pure gorgeousness. I only wish they put a little syrup on her face. Just a little! Sophie failed in this shoot for me. It is an awkward pose and honestly she looks lost. Ashley was sent home this week but at least I see an emotion in her.

Week 6: Music Video

Ok look, why the heck are they singing!? I get being in a video but not the actual singing. So with that they were each given a "part" to play and stay close to the lovely brand they were given by Tyra (ugh). With that in mind Catherine was so elegant, beautiful and still had some attitude and was a pleasure to watch. Kyle, well, there are those headlights again. Even production, from what we were shown, had to keep stopping to get something out of her. The end result was still her just staring into the camera doing nothing. Yeah the ship part was ok but overall performance stunk. Azmarie went home this week but, let us be honest, it was because she wouldn't wear butt pads.

Week 7: Art Installments with Estelle

This was the week judges got best photo and worst correct in my opinion. Sophie's actually entertains me, which I think was the point in this shoot, staying fashionable but entertain the viewer. She looks ready for a fight. I also love the humor of what Annaliese is doing to her shoe here. Kyle, again, fell completely flat. She is just kneeling there awkwardly holding meat on her shoulder. Her fake butt doesn't look good (though I am not sure if that is her fault or not). I don't actually know what the point of having Estelle in these photos was supposed to be but I actually think she looks awkward in most of them.

Week 8 Hello Kitty Couture

When I was a kid, Hello Kitty was everything, so I actually liked this concept. Too bad many of the girls got lost in the idea and the clothes wore many of them and not the other way around. I love Annaliese in her shot though. It is still couture with some of the Hello Kitty fun that many associate it with. This is easily the best of the day. Alisha's is not bad, but I was missing a hint of youthfullness that the brand calls for. Eboni literally stood there touching her shoulders...really?! The clothes do look great but that is literally it. She added nothing to the photo. Seymone went home this week and while her picture was week she was at least moving and had a great face.

Week 9: Barney Cheng Silk Gowns (silk worms)

Laura worked in this shoot. She went awkward and made it elegant. Her eyes are a little lost in the tilt of her head but it actually adds to the photo. Catherine, oh I actually loved Catherine, she was so lost on what to do. If they would have just left her alone I think she would have done better. Instead they kept telling her to picture and emotion and physically feel it. Why not simply say romanticize it? Make it broad so the models could go to a stable place? Honestly, the hair did nothing for her either. In the end though, she did not deliver in the body or face.

Week 9: Harnessed on the Macau Tower

This one was tricky as I do not think it was the models fault for looking awkward. The weather was bad, they were up very high, had harnesses on that some used as a prop but was ultimately photo-shopped out making for some strange shots for some. Laura though looks divine. Her adventurous personality worked in her favor and you could tell she was without restraint and felt comfortable. Unfortunately, Eboni lost all her facial expressions in these circumstances and just fell flat. Her body position isn't horrible but her left arm is awkwardly bent.

Week 10: Dream Come True Fragrance

Laura, while not a princess looks very peaceful to me. To, me it does look like she is dreaming, peaceful and freaking gorgeous. Sophie technically got FCO this week and while she is gorgeous, her face was blank to me. Anneliese brought out the youthful side but not the dreamy. I find it hard to believe this was her best shot but regardless, she did not deliver.

Week 11: Covergirl

Laura rocked the photo, but looked completely awkward in the commercial, though her lines to me were done alright. Sophie on the other hand looks really out of sorts in the photo but nailed the commercial. She had some spice that we hadn't heard from her before. Technically, Sophie wins the season, but realistically it could have just as easily gone to Laura. Portfolio wise, Laura was stronger but it is not like Sophie was weak. However, I think she was the correct winner seeing as she booked go-sees consistently making her a "want" in the industry.

Wow that got long! I am curious if other agree of disagree with some of my points. I truly would have loved Louise to stick around seeing as I think she would have went far. Alisha was around too long, same with Kyle and Eboni (unpopular opinion I know).
