You ever see those characters with the tired, droopy eyed look? They look really relaxed, just going with the flow? That's pretty much how I am, I'd like to think. Kyle from Animal Crossing pretty much nails it, or just that one kinda stoned look you can have as the Villager. They might seem tired, but there's a lot going on inside.
At heart I'm an explorer and builder of worlds, though much more of the former. The latter happens to be my job, though I'm on the grunt end as it started as a hobby. Anyway, exploring is hardly limited to the physical realm, and in fact exploring the creations of others from the comfort of my own space is most appealing. Not every medium calls to me, it's mostly limited to stuff like games, art, and animation (more eastern, but western has its moments), though exceptions do exist. I like stories in general, folklore and tales, and navigating my way through a world someone else thought up and made as an intentional experience to share with others. I'm just another nerd at the end of the day, though.
Naturally, I spend a lot of time in my head because of this! It often comes off as being disinterested, or suddenly it's days later and I realize I haven't talked with someone between everything going on. While part of the truth is it's just hard to connect, the other is I really do operate on a slower energy wavelength. A lot of the posts here scare me because of such intense, immediate expectations, and I have to admit I can't offer what most are looking for. Clicking is great, but lasting friendship isn't something you can demand or force.
It's hard to say what I'm really looking for or "need." I think it's more just casting a line out there and seeing if anything bites, ya know? If a tired, quiet-ish, but warm friend sounds appealing, I might be worth a shot. I do hope to meet other single folks closer to my age, not for dating or anything but because the vast majority of my co-workers and few friends are all married, and it's pretty repetitive when so much of any conversation revolves around their relationship issues. I do not care in the slightest about gender, and often get along better with other guys.
Just to toss out a few specifics, I've been getting into Code Vein (the music has been so atmospheric and catchy) and Cat Quest 2, as well as just finishing watching Rise of the Shield Hero. A friend also finally convinced me to grab Forza Horizon 4, I'm excited to just drive around and see the scenery. ^^ Oh! And I love hockey, had to mention that at the end.
