About ten years ago, in high school, I had about a year and a half of rivalry with a girl I'll call Tricia. It was ultimately over a boy and ultimately neither of us was innocent in the situation. But she took it quite far, leaving nasty notes in my locker, posting and tagging me in nasty caricatures on facebook, etc. It was a pretty hellish time for me.
In the end she got the boy and I moved on. Years passed. They broke up very quickly. I started to almost forget about Tricia.
She just sent me a friend request on facebook. She has a new account, not the one I blocked, and it looks like it's for one purpose: shilling Color Street.

The kicker is that I do nail art. Not professionally, but I do have an instagram for it, and I'm pretty okay at it. I'm also halfway through a doctoral program.
She got the boy.
But a decade later, she's in a pyramid scheme selling pre-printed nail polish strips and I'm two years from becoming a doctor, doing my own nail art in my free time. My facebook is as private as possible so she can't see my education or my nail pictures - so I'm going to accept her request and imagine her face.
The best revenge is a life well lived.
