TIFU that I painting my 4 year old daughters nails

Split household in a horrible dirty custody case.

I just started my toddler in preschool/daycare program. I was also able to start potentially working full time because I’m paying for both programs. I’ve begged him for just preschool for a year and a half but he refuses to pay half. $150 a month.

So I just pulled the trigger. It was becoming such a shit throwing contest from him that I felt she needed a neutral ground to go to every day for 3-5 hours.

I’m paying completely, not asking for him to do anything. Court will settle child support eventually to help.

I painted her nails the day after she came to back my house on Sunday. The dads girlfriend had painted them and obviously tried very hard to make little hearts. But they where chipped and some fingers where missing polish. so I asked my daughter if she wanted to repaint them and she excitedly said yes. I recreated the heart on one of my fingers and on the remaining 4 made other little designs for her to choose from. We paint nails every week or so. She paints mine, I paint hers, freakin adorable. Here and there the girlfriend paints them.

Got a text at almost midnight tonight. They are refusing to ltake her to school in the morning. Her fifth day. Which also happens to be “water day”. My little was STOKED. She absolutely loves water. I was stoked for her to run around with other kids.

They saw the nails, text me nope, said it was bullshit I did that, that my daughter cried after they “asked her about it”. Manipulated to mirror their opinions is very probable.

What makes it worse is that they refuse to meet me at our usual spot. They will drop her off at the preschool exactly 30 minutes after the preschool program ends.

I begged. You’re confusing her by taking her there when it’s over, it’s a special day, all of it. “It’s my fault that I promised she would go. I shouldn’t make promises I can’t keep” was their reply.

They are now refusing to let her go at all when they have her during the week.

So I repainted the carefully done, but now old and chipped, nail art that ex’s girlfriend did and now my daughter can’t go to preschool or have a safe space.

Honestly, I should have predicted this and known better due to their shit behavior in general. Check out the AITA shoe post (spoiler, everyone sucked) I could fill a book with such explosive garbage situations over little things.

TL;DR Baby daddies girlfriend pained adorable nails on my daughter. It was chipped and fingers where missing polish. Little had first day of preschool so I redid them with permission from my toddler. Then they refused to let her go to preschool when they had her. I could have predicted that they would (sadly) to preserve her neutral environment from the dirty custody case and her education.
