The Carpetbagger, The Prospector, and The Trick Shooter: Three Fan Hunter Concepts

The Carpetbagger

As early as 1893, rumors of the darkness in the bayou reached certain secretive social circles of the northern states. Many of these socialites were collectors of knowledge or curios, and some saw in the darkness an opportunity to enhance their own wealth.

John William Butler was of the latter category, a patent medicine salesman who rode south to claim land lost to the infection, who eventually became a common sight at the hunter's lodge. Hunters were amused to see him head out on ventures in Victorian dress. Records hint at many a lost wager subsequent to his return, bounty in tow, without a single grain of sand beneath his nails.

Visual appearance: Victorian attire

Weapon Skin: Silver Gilded Nagant Silenced "John William Butler claimed to be light enough on his feet to run past Grunts without fear of detection after taking his miracle stamina tonic. More likely, he used silenced weaponry to dispatch them."

The Prospector

One of a few miners to ever strike gold twice, Reagan Bruce travelled home as soon as he heard about the Louisiana Incident, at that time barely more than a rumor.

Bruce cared little about what others thought of his methods, and cared even less about making noise while hunting. As long as he was supplied with buckshot and had his back against the wall, he didn't care who heard him

Visual appearance: collarbone length beard, underalls. You know what a Prospector looks like.

Weapon Skin: Hellfire Bomb in a mason jar titled XXX "Reagan Bruce seldom discussed his moonshine operation."

The Trick Shooter

A lesser known celebrity of the wild west show tour circuit, Hilda "Bullseye" Tanner disappeared from a westbound train in the early 90s. Rumors after the fact circulated that she had become heavy with child, and the showrunners had married her off to a wealthy patron while she was still young.

Records of the Hunter's Lodge contradict this rumor, with records attesting to a hunter who moved fanning from an art form into a practical technique that aided many a hunter on the bayou.

Visual appearance: buffalo coat with long fringes, round domed bowler hat, pigtails

Weapon skin: "prototype" Caldwell chain pistol "The first Caldwell chain pistol was a roughshod product, but it was universally viewed in awe."

*"Carpetbagger" is used in the original definition of the term, as a northerner traveling to the south during the reconstruction to take advantage of the weakened economy. This is not intended to cause offense in any way, but rather as a caricature that is universally viewed with suspicion.
