The Knight Moveset Concept

Reigning from Hallownest, The Knight is a curious creature with a horned helmet, a nail and SOUL. I believe that he would be a great addition to Smash Ultimate as he has gained tons of popularity in recent months, allows for indie representation in Smash, and he has a diverse enough moveset in his own games to make up a decent amount of his Smash moveset.

The Knight will be a sword character at heart, but with many different attributes that set him apart from the others.

PASSIVE

SOUL Catcher Whenever The Knight attacks enemies, he gains SOUL. SOUL is used in Hollow Knight for spells and to recover health. In Smash, he starts the battle with a half vessel of SOUL, and spells use up about 1/5 of the vessel per spell.

OFFENSE

Jab: a quick 1-2-rapid jab move where the knight swipes twice then rapidly attacks the opponent with void tendrils.

F-Tilt: a long-range swipe in front of the knight with the nail that can be angled.

U-Tilt: a short, quick, upward slash with the nail, with decent combo potential.

D-Tilt: a slow 2-hit attack where the knight crouches down and hits the opponent with the horns on his head, then launches them up. This would likely be a kill option, kind of like Falco's D-Tilt.

F-Smash: The Knight uses Great Slash, a strong, long-ranged Nail Art.

U-Smash: The Knight uses his Up+Cast ability, Howling Wraiths. This is a high-damage, high-knockback 3-hit attack that sends straight up.

D-Smash: The knight uses Cyclone Slash, a spinning Nail Art akin to Link's Up Special.

N-Air: The Knight attacks with Thorns of Agony, a short-ranged move with high damage but low knockback.

F-Air: A simple horizontal swipe with the nail, like Toon Link's F-Air.

U-Air: The Knight leaps up and slams his head into the opponent.

B-Air: The Knight's Shade emerges from behind him and attacks the opponent.

D-Air: the standard downward slash from HK, and is a spike similar to Lucina's. Upon hitting an opponent, The Knight bounces up.

N-Special: The Knight uses the Shade Soul spell, a projectile that travels somewhat quickly, deals around 15 damage, and consumes 1/4 of The Knight's vessel.

F-Special: The Knight uses either the Super Dash or the Descending Dark spells. If you hold the stick to the side while using it, he performs the Super Dash, but if you quickly tilt the stick down after pressing the F-Special, he will perform a Descending Dark, a quickly descending move similar to Yoshi's or Bowser's D-Specials.

U-Special: Grimm grabs the Knight and teleports him up a certain distance, before bowing and disappearing.

D-Special: The Knight focuses his SOUL to recover about 6% using up around 1/3 of the vessel.

Grab: The Knight reaches forward with a void tendril.

B-Throw: The Knight stabs the opponent with his nail, launching them backward, similarly to Corrin's B-Throw.

F-Throw: The Knight grabs an Uoma out of thin air and slams it into the opponent, blasting them forward. Possibly a kill throw.

U-Throw: The Knight simply throws the opponent up into the air with the tendrils.

D-Throw: The Knight pins the opponent down, then attacks them with his Dream Nail, sending almost directly up.

Final Smash: The Knight's Final Smash is triggered by an activation box where his shell turns black, his eyes begin to glow, and tendrils lash out from all around. If an opponent is hit by one of these tendrils, they are transported to a cutscene where they are trapped by the tendrils, only to be repeatedly attacked several times with other tendrils, dealing about 45 damage. This will instantly KO an opponent if they are above 120% by the end of the move.

DEFENSE

Forward Roll: The Knight uses his Shade Cloak to travel forward a short distance. When staled more than 4 times, the roll becomes a normal Mothwing Cloak dash.

Back Roll: The Knight uses the Shade Cloak to retreat. When staled more than 4 times, the roll becomes a normal Mothwing Cloak dash.

Spotdodge: The Knight quickly transforms into Shade to evade attacks. When staled more than 4 times, he simply dodges in a way similar to Roy or Chrom.

MISCELLANEOUS

Up Taunt: The Knight mimics sitting on a bench for a bit.

Side Taunt: The Knight dons the mask of one of the Dreamers and appears to yell something like 'Boo.' The mask that he wears is randomly selected between that of Herrah the Beast, Monomon the Teacher, and Lurien the Watcher.

Down Taunt: Hornet appears beside the Knight and provokes the opponent. If only pressed for one frame, The Knight attacks the opponent with a Dream Nail and may encounter Dream Nail dialogue, like Pit and Palutena's Guidance.

Idle Animation: The Knight appears to sharpen his nail with a piece of Pale Ore.

Idle Animation 2: The Knight tries to eat a small bit of a Rancid Egg, then recoils and drops it.
