[ HEROICS INFO ]

  • Hero Agency/Villain Team: N/A
  • Attitude: WIP/Has yet to be fleshed out, but he's pretty determined about this hero thing.
  • School: Yuuei Academy
  • Year: Rising Freshman (soon-to-be 1st year)
  • Department: Hero Course
  • Class: 1-B
  • Distinguishing Physical Features:
  • Hero or Villain: Hero (or, at the very least, aspiring to be. It only takes a tug in the wrong direction for him to veer off towards a different future.)
  • Hero/Villain Name: Orbweaver
  • Costume: WIP
  • Gadgets/Tech/Weapons: WIP
  • Name of their quirk: Unravel
  • Quirk Type: Transformation (while it may seem like an Emitter quirk at first glance, to be technical, it's best categorized under Transformation.)
  • Quirk Range: At the given moment, the range of his quirk is limited to a maximum of give or take 24 meters. (For comparison, your average swimming pool measures about 25 meters long, lengthwise.)
  • Quirk Description: Takahashi's quirk allows him to "unwind" himself via a form of thread transmutation, to be technical. To get more technical with the quirk, he can turn his arms, fingers, hands, and all of the above into a thin, thread-like material by rearranging and reconstructing his muscle fibers and connective tissue.
  • Miscellaneous Quirk Info: Rewinding himself isn't exactly as cool and effective as it might seem to be. While he can, in a sense, "retract" his quirk, he cannot actually pull objects towards him relying on his rewinding ability alone. He'd have to yank his own thread towards him, and even then, he'd have to rely on his own strength--while the thread he produces is incredibly durable/strong, it's still just thread and nothing more. Like pulling something towards you with a rope, in a sense.
In addition, while his quirk is technically Unravel, he has several subtle physical traits akin to that of a spider. For one, his canines are abnormally large and protrude slightly from under his upper lip (hence why he wears his mouth mask, due to being extremely self-conscious about it). For two, he has a notably high tolerance to poison--emphasis on tolerance, though. He isn't immune to it. (His body doesn't produce venom in any way, though.)
  • Quirk Strengths: As previously stated, his quirk is insanely durable. While Takahashi hasn't yet discovered the full potential of his quirk, he does exploit it to the best of his ability in terms of it being a sort of thread he can manipulate. His quirk is often used to bind foes, retrieve/hurl objects, suture wounds (though it's usually often a temporary measure), or even eavesdrop on distant conversations. (Note that the farther away said conversation is, the fainter it would be and the harder it would be to try and decipher.)
  • Quirk Weaknesses: When rewinding himself, Takahashi experiences moderate to severe soreness as well as muscle weakness. This works in conjunction with the duration during which he uses his quirk as well as how much he uses it--ultimately, pushing himself above and beyond would result in him barely being able to walk without someone supporting him (as well as a huge limitation in how much he would be able to move, considering how tense his muscles would be). In addition, pushing beyond the range of his quirk (25 meters) would be less effective and incredibly uncomfortable--it would kind of be like pulling on a hangnail that just doesn't break off at all.
To add to it, as previously mentioned under Misc. Quirk Info, he can't exactly retract his thread and carry objects with him. The thread he produces isn't exactly the most elastic, either. To retrieve something or even just bind things in general, Takahashi has to move his arms/unwind himself in a certain way so that the string moves at an angle and naturally wraps around whatever he wants it to--it's a tricky move, honestly.
  • Special Moves: [WIP] Honestly, the only reason I'm leaving this blank is because I can't come up with any cool names
    .
    [PERSONAL INFO]
  • Personal Strengths: Analytical, knows how to worm his way out of a sticky situation, pretty easy to approach, generally selfless and will put others before himself, honest (but not exactly straightforward. He won't lie, he'll just find a way to avoid telling the truth), a good tactician whose second quirk is probably being extremely good at bluffing
  • Personal Weaknesses: Abysmally anti-social, not the most communicative, has a hard time thinking during an intense situation, is prone to panicking instead of keeping his head straight, a huge pushover, has a hard time saying no, easy to manipulate given you pull on the right strings
  • Age quirk obtained: His quirk really only sprung into action (yeah, that was a lame joke. my bad) when he was around 5 or 6. A bit of a late bloomer, really.
  • How the quirk was obtained: It's still a work in progress, but from what Takahashi remembers, he calls falling off of something. He reached out in a vain attempt to grab onto something and keep himself from falling to his inevitable doom, and in that moment, his fingertips do the thing. Huzzah! His inner Spiderman comes out works its magic.
  • Likes: Takahashi is a huge fan of sushi/sashimi, and... well, he has a habit of only ever ordering bento boxes at lunch. To say the very least, he's a pretty big fan of peace and quiet. He enjoys the company of plants and, specifically, cats. There's just something about them that he's really fond of.
One of Takahashi's most noteworthy interests is his fascination in bugs. He's never really been scared of bugs, really (except for the ones that bite. Those he still watches with childlike wonder, but from a distance). There's just something about the way they move, the way they work together, and how something so tiny could make such a huge impact.
In spite of his introvertedness, he does like company. All things considered, though, he's more likely to enjoy listening to you talk instead of engaging in the conversation, if you could even call it one. No, he's not ignoring you, he just has no idea how to respond.
  • Dislikes: Not a big fan of small spaces, crowds, any sort of loud sounds--you know the drill. A good majority of his dislikes go hand-in-hand with his fears, however, so there really isn't much to say on the matter on what he likes and dislikes.
Takahashi isn't a huge fan of action and violence, either. He'd rather resort to more... er, less dangerous activities. Like not action and violence.
Oh, and did I ever mention he has a burning hatred for wasps? Yeah. He'll put up with any and every insect except wasps. He hasn't exactly had the best history with them.
  • Habits: Takahashi has a very subtle habit in which he rubs his fingers together (it's usually his thumb and the other fingers on the same hand), in addition to just glancing/staring at his fingertips in general. He also frequently rubs the nape of his neck, whether it's a form of being sheepish, nervous, antsy, disdainful, etc.
  • Fears: Takahashi has always been terrified of being left alone or being ignored, to be completely honest. Even so, he barely talks at all, one of the main reasons being he's terrified of saying the wrong thing or accidentally bringing up a touchy subject. It's really the fear of losing people and isolating himself further and further from everyone else that really haunts him in his sleep.
He's also pretty apprehensive when it comes to going anywhere near deep water, especially in the ocean. So what if there's no sharks?? He's still incredibly stubborn about going on boats and going scuba diving or anything else that involves him going into the ocean. (He's fine with pools, though.)
  • Reason for becoming a Hero/Villain: When he was give or take 12, his father was shot several times in the chest. He was found robbed of anything and everything of value--all that was left was the clothes on his back and his cold, lifeless body.
Was there a hero on the scene?
Yes, actually--but the hero was a bit too late to the party. By that time, there was already an injured civilian on the scene who, to be fair, seemed like he was done for. It wasn't too late, though, and the hospital wasn't too far off. And what did the hero do? He chased after the villain. Nothing more, nothing less.
By the time he had returned to the scene of the incident, Takahashi Shiro was dead.
The media always does its magic, though. Any story can be twisted to make the hero look better, right? Takahashi tries to convinve himself that it was what it was and tries to move on. For a while, he asks himself: why? Why couldn't his dad have been saved? It didn't make sense--there was a hero on the scene, and heroes save people, don't they? Isn't that what they're supposed to do?
It takes a while. Maybe it's a week, maybe it's two, but ultimately, Takahashi manages to come to terms with it and move on. He can't help but feel a little spiteful towards how the situation turned out, but he convinces himself that what had happened had happened, and that there was... no use dwelling on the past, really. He puts the final nail in the coffin by swallowing his resolve and applying to Yuuei, the most prestigious hero school in the country.
He'd be the hero his dad never had. He'd be a hero people would look up to--a hero who would make sure that everything would be alright. He wanted to save people--and with that, he set his sights towards Yuuei Academy.
  • Relationship with peers/classmates: TBD. However, he'd probably maintain a somewhat distant relationship with his peers--he's a very quiet person, so at most, he'd put his head down on his desk and irk away from any sort of social interaction. It isn't that he's a social recluse--his silence stems from a fear of being looked down upon, from being judged, from saying the wrong thing at the wrong time--the list goes on. Takahashi is a, for lack of better word, very shy individual, and would rather play the guitar to his plants and spend time with his cat than try and put himself out there. That doesn't mean
  • Relationship with Family: He never knew his first mother, and with his second, their relationship was nearly nonexistent. Things were a bit on the brighter side considering his father, but considering how much he was away from home, they maintained a relatively distant relationship.
  • Relationship Status: Single pringle and not sure if he wants to mingle. What if the feeling isn't mutual?? What if he isn't a good boyfriend?? What if--
  • Number of Kids: N/A. (He does own two houseplants, though. Not that that counts.)
  • Art (if any): imagine spiderman but edgy and sad // infant child (picrew!)
  • Rating: Power: 2/5 Speed: 4/5 Technique: 5/5 Intelligence: 4/5 Cooperativeness: 3/5
  • Backstory (If any): All things taken into consideration, Takahashi didn't exactly have the best childhood. Both his parents were almost completely absent from the home: on one hand, his dad spent every waking hour earning just enough money to pay for mortgage and buy the groceries, among other things. As for his mother, though... it was almost as if she had never existed. Takahashi had never even met his mother, having only ever seen her in the wedding photographs in one corner of the house. The woman was missing, and his father would take him to someone's grave once every year.
It wasn't until he was 4 or 5 when several new people came into his life: a woman and her two daughters, it would seem. His dad remarried, and, a year later, it all fell apart. Not that Takahashi was complaining, though--for the majority of the time he spent with her, he was entirely neglected, having to start learning to do things for himself. He packed his own lunch, and, given the chance he got stuck on his homework, he just sucked it up and put up with the bad grades. Soon thereafter, though, they suddenly disappeared, and his life took a turn for the worst. Suddenly, food was hard to come by, and he rarely ever got the chance to use the TV. He was even told to go out of his way and use as little water as he could, to turn the lights off whenever it was bright outside and resort to opening the blinds--in other words, money was a lot harder to come by. He could only ever assume the worst had happened--maybe the woman had something to do with it.
January 27th. Takahashi was 12 years old at the time. Coming home from school, he found the stranger from across the street at his front door.
"A burglary gone wrong," they said. It all came to bits in pieces to him, but one thing was for sure.
His dad wouldn't come home that night.
Beside his mother's gravestone, another one was added. "Takahashi Shiro," it read. From that point on, Takahashi withdrew himself from the rest of the world--for a while, people would come by and knock on the door. But he wouldn't answer. Using the remaining money his father left for him, he got by on his own, living at home with nothing but himself and his two plants. Forging his father's signature was something he eventually grew skilled at--before he knew it, it'd become second nature. There was nothing more to say on the matter.
  • Miscellaneous Information: Mad guitar skills. That's really all there is to say on the matter. You'll usually find him jamming out on a park bench or something in a similar fashion.
He has a cat, affectionately named Mochi. She generally spends her time inside his house, though you might occasionally see her outside on the lawn or chilling on the wall surrounding his home.
  • Dice (RP only): d4
