Is something that connected me to the online world worth including in an essay?

From around ages 10-12, I loved to use Gimp and make graphic designs for games I played, and I also made music videos with those games. I even coded a skin for one when I was 13, but it wasn’t for the public and I don’t think it was anything special since it was basic coding. I thought that would be good for a creativity essay but I felt like it was so long ago and that nail art, which I still do, is better for that since it’s more recent. Is it worth trying to include something that I stopped doing? Also because it was something that connected me to the online forums I used to meet people on, but online interaction isn’t the same as real life interaction. I know what I would write for each but I don’t know which one is safer
