[MODPOST] Random Events of 4E 37

[MODPOST] Random Events of 4E 37

[Only events this week, there are no unstable territories.]

Indoril

The collapse of the Temple as a government and the leader of Resdayn sent shockwaves throughout Morrowind. To some, it presented an opportunity to gain power themselves. For others, it gave fear of Resdayn’s collapse. To the Indoril, it was the final nail in the coffin after a series of mistakes that the Temple was no longer capable as the political or religious leader of the Dunmer people. With their gods gone and the Temple’s incompetence proven, there was simply no point in its continued worship.

Great House Indoril has formally demoted the role of the Tribunal from gods to that of saints in their religion. In lieu of them, worship of the Good Daedra has been readopted. A large percentage of their population has converted alongside the Great House, particularly in the city of Necrom that was recently conquered from the Temple, but many continue to reject the abandonment of the Tribunal. Nevertheless, the Indoril government has begun renovating the former Tribunal religious centers in their land into their newfound faith.

Cyrodiil Vampyrum Order

A shocking document was presented to Imperial authorities in the early days of the year by the Order of the Virtuous Blood. It detailed the court of the Count of Kvatch being infiltrated by vampires and named several high-ranking members as members of the Cyrodiil Vampyrum Order. The evidence given is good at best and shaky at worst, but it appears that several of its accusations are correct. The report was originally given to the Count of Kvatch himself, but after seeming reluctant to remove any members of his government himself, the Order moved on to the Elder Council.

The Order of the Virtuous Blood calls for the removal of these vampires from Kvatch’s court and the punishment of Kvatch’s count for inaction, naming him complicit.

Wasseek-Haleel

The Wasseek-Haleel have always been famed for their traditions in music, dance, and woodcarving. The current leader of the tribe has decided to solidify this by constructing a grand university for the arts within Murkmire, spreading these traditions to its students. They have also funded festivals all across their territory to celebrate its completion.

[Tier 3 university constructed within Murkmire.]

Markarth

The Adamantine Union, with its recent crises, has never been closer to collapse. Many of its members have started to see this, and many have begun making plans for what to do in the event the Union becomes simply a memory. The King of Markarth, previously a proud supporter of the Union and its Bretwalda, was horrified to see the killing of their leader, their kingdom absorbed by a hostile power, and then that hostile power’s acceptance into the Union after they showed all intent to invade their nation.

Markarth no longer holds faith that the Union will last. With no leader, continued instability, and the rulers of two of its most powerful members being educated in ruling by an empire that was previously planning on attacking them, the future is looking dark. The King of Markarth wants no part in its downfall. It has sent a missive to the ruling council of the Adamantine Union requesting its own independence from the failing state. While it is currently against the laws of the Union to secede, no laws stopped the events that previously transpired, and so Markarth sees little use in abiding by them.

Corinthe

In the previous year, the Renrijra Krin has become increasingly bold in their attacks against Leyawiin and its Imperial government, with their presence getting stronger and stronger in the border regions between Leyawiin and Elsweyr and the attacks getting more and more regular. It was clear that some outside event had caused this, but it was unclear what it was until recent.

The capture of an agent of the criminal organization led to it becoming public that the nation of Corinthe was providing funding to the organization in order to aid the retaking of Leyawiin for the Khajiit. Though it has become public, the ruler of Corinthe has not halted their funding, and the Renrijra Krin’s growth continues. It even appears that their attempts have sparked some local Khajiit separatist movements. If their growth is not halted, it is likely that this will only grow.

[-20% stability in Leyawiin territories with over 15% Khajiit population for at least 1 year, after which it may lower or raise depending on player actions. In addition, Corinthe will be spending 1,500,000 per update until funding is halted.]

Shimmerene

Cloudrest was accepted as the rightful ruler of the Summerset Isles after its war with Lillandril, but that acceptance was tentative for some upon the conclusion of the war. Cloudrest’s occupation of Firsthold had already left many of the smaller Altmer nations feeling threatened, and now Cloudrest took direct control of Lillandril’s territory instead of simply replacing its ruler. This had an immediate effect of loyalty due to the threat of invasion but left many distrustful. They feared that Cloudrest would continue its expansion across the Summerset Isles, continuing to take territory for itself. This was what they had deposed the old queen for, was it not?

With the dust of previous wars and possible conflicts finally settled, Shimmerene has decided to take the opportunity to address their concerns with Cloudrest. They and their ally in Skywatch, who already feared an invasion after the initial conflicts with Firsthold, have petitioned Cloudrest to release the cities of Lillandril and Firsthold as independent nations once again. The old conflicts have been settled, they say, and there is no longer any fear of them returning to their old ways. Simply the threat of combined action by all kinholds of Summerset should keep them at bay, and there is no longer any need to continue their occupation.

Redoran

With the recent conflict against the Temple finally settled and the might of Redoran shown to the rest of Resdayn, nationalism for the Great House is at an all-time high. Support for Redoran’s rulers and military has come in droves and many proudly hold their House above all others. With the fall of the Temple and the lack of a proper ruler for Resdayn, many have come to call on Redoran to solidify its hegemony over the empire of Resdayn, even supporting it calling upon outside allies to do so. They believe Redoran to be the rightful rulers and protectors of Resdayn and its people, and they will not stand any other House claiming that title.

Cloudrest

In recent years, a trend has become apparent within the Firsthold region. Many influential members of Firsthold’s society have started publicly espousing views aligned with those of the Thalmor. This has had a noticeable effect on Firsthold’s population and many of its citizens have adopted these views as well. Support for the Thalmor has grown high within the region, and the supremacist views have not mixed well with the recent adoption of Imperial gods by many Altmer within the region. Crimes against these citizens along with the Imperials living in the city have risen dramatically. If there is no intervention, the situation may quickly spiral out of control.

Church of the Ancestors

The Strand Heresy continues to grow. Many more have adopted the faith in the past year, more than any could have expected. With increased contact between the communities following this faith due to outside persecution by traditional Altmer, the faith has unified greatly as well. Its followers have cast off the label of ‘heresy’ put on them by the Church of the Ancestors, calling their faith “the Divines reconciled”. An organization created to lead this faith has appeared, calling itself the “Church of the Reconciled Divines”.

The Church of the Ancestors has put out a call to the monarchs of the Summerset Isles to put an end to this heresy and many have complied. The nations of Summerset are putting increased pressure on the followers of this new religion to abandon their faith and return to the old ways, but the population seems resistant to this. Nevertheless, many of those following the faith have been outcast from their former communities and a divide is growing. The waters are calm for now, but what will happen next is yet to be seen.

[9% of all Anvil territories and of each territory in Summerset with an Imperial/Imperialized population converts to the Reconciled Divines. Stability is unchanged for now.]
