Paying someone to make some assets, including animations, for a mobile game I'm working on. It's a puzzle-type game. Kind of a side-scrolling / platformer game, but not really. The game is grid based, so all images must be in a 400x400 pixel transparent canvas and should be scaled to occupy as much of the canvas as possible. The character will be the same size as these objects in the game and it will be stacked on top of several of these objects, such as the floor during game play.
Here are the objects I want:
- Brick Wall: Should be stackable vertically and horizontally. I'm thinking like a typical red brick wall.
- Metal Wall: Some kind metallic looking wall. Should be stackable vertically and horizontally.
- Magic Wall: A magical looking wall. Perhaps make the wall purple, or the same as the brick wall, but with purple bricks.
- Wooden Box: Will be pushed by the player and multiple boxes may be stacked on top of each other. Should occupy the entire canvas.
- Metal Box: Metalic looking. Same specifications as the wooden box.
- Magic Box: Magical looking, perhaps make the box purple. Same specifications as the wooden box.
- Ladder: The player will climb it. Should be stackable vertically.
- Hook: In game, the image for the hook will be right underneath the image for a floor. So the hook should be in the upper center of the canvas and should occupy no more than the upper half of the canvas.
- Door: This will be the door the player will need to get to to complete the level. Make it a green door. In a separate smaller canvas, draw a golden pad lock and then make an animation of the lock unlocking and disintegrating away. The padlock will be placed over the door to indicate it's locked. A door can have a maximum of four padlocks, so make sure to make them small enough. The four padlocks will not all be placed vertically on the door. They will be placed in a square formation.
- Wooden Floor: The floor should only occupy the bottom edge of the canvas. The height of the floor should only be about 10% of the canvas height. The floor should be stackable horizontally.
- Metal Floor: Metallic looking floor. Same specifications as the wooden floor.
- Magic / Floating Floor: This floor will move. Should look magical, perhaps make the floor purple. Same specifications as the wooden floor.
- Cracked Wooden Floor: This floor will break after the character passes over it. Same specifications as the wooden floor.
- Explosive Floor: Perhaps draw little wires and a small explosive device on the floor. Same specifications as the wooden floor.
- Red Button: A button you step on. Should occupy no more than the bottom two thirds of the canvas.
- Yellow Button: A button you step on. Should occupy no more than the bottom two thirds of the canvas.
Items: The following are meant to be items collectible by the player. They should be in the center of the canvas and as stated before, should occupy as much of the canvas as possible.
- Bomb: Should be one of those cartoonish looking bombs. A black circle with a fuse on top.
- Nuclear Bomb: Same as the bomb, but with a red "N" on it.
- Plank
- Nail
- Golden Key: Used to unlock the padlocks on the door.
- Spring: The player will be able to jump twice as high with the spring.
- Red Brick
- Purple Rings: A canvas containing two purple rings half overlapped with each other. Not the kind of rings you wear on your fingers. This item will be used to create portals.
- Purple Ring. A canvas containing one purple ring. Should look the same as the purple rings, except there should be only one of them. Once you create a portal, the two purple rings in your inventory will change to a single purple ring.
- Portable Ladder: A ladder you carry around. This item will be used to create a ladder.
- Coiled Rope:
- Mine: Used to blow up a floor.
Animations: These objects should be animated. Based on the objects listed above, should have the same canvas specifications.
- Fire: This animations will run on a loop. Should just be red / orange flames moving around.
- Locks: Described above under "Door". Will be in a much smaller canvas.
- Portal: This animation should run on a loop. The player and boxes will teleport through the portal. Should be a circular portal and should look as if it's pulling inwards.
- Wall explosion: The explosion occurs when using the bomb. It could be either a typical bomb explosion with fire, or it could look as if the wall is crumbling to dust . Note that in a column of walls, all wall images in the column will run the exploding animation at the same time. Only the brick and magic wall will explode, so you can have a generic animation that can be used for both, or one animation for each.
- Floor explosion: All types of floors will be able to explode except for the metal floor.
- Character movement animation cycles: Will run in loop. I don't really care what he looks like as long as you can tell what direction he's facing. The animations should include Idle, Walking, Running, Climbing Ladder, Pushing Box, and idle while on ladder. For the idle while on ladder animation will run if the player stops while climbing the ladder. While the character could have his back to the camera with the Climbing Ladder animation, the player should be able to tell which direction the character is facing with the idle on ladder animation by either having one hand on ladder, turning his head to one direction, or using another method.
