Why can’t I just commit to a career plan without getting cold feet?

Ok so I’m 22 and in college studying graphic & interactive design. I love art, I love design, I’m good at it. I know it’s a competitive field to break into but that in itself doesn’t worry me all that much. However, I’m always doubting my decision to return to school and worry my career plans change too often or are just vague. In the recent past I’ve considered:

  • being a nail technician (wouldn’t take much time or money at all to get certified, some creativity involved)

  • being a pet groomer (until an actual pet groomer convinced me it’s not a great career to be in)

  • working in a museum - either exhibit design, conservation, etc

  • being a writer or editor

  • designing environments or making concept art for video games

  • doing something related to botany or horticulture (I like the idea of working in nature and not being stuck at a desk all day)

It’s frustrating feeling like I can’t just pick a career path that interests me and stick to it. How do I find my focus??
