TJaE BitG Quick Review

Just a quick review for those looking for it.

I played and loved dearly TJaE on Sega when I was a kid. Never beat it as it was too difficult for my kid brain, but had fun with it nonetheless.

I bought back in the groove based on nostalgia, couldn't fight the urge to buy it even though I was sure I'd regret it.

Well I just beat it last night, here's my thoughts.

This game NAILS TJaE. This game had me smiling the whole way through with classic gameplay and surprisingly dope music! I didn't think the original soundtrack could be beat, but that stanky swampy bass in this new one is just as good!

I thought I'd hate the art style... I didn't! I actually ended up liking it.

Very true to the original, with added content. Things like talking in the elevator and soundclips from earthlings are spot on.

It was worth 20 bucks in my opinion, it really brought me back and I thoroughly enjoyed myself.

Here's the negative:

The levels are too small, there isn't much exploring or hidden paths, and as a result finding the ship pieces/elevators is much easier.

I beat the game on normal first try, in about 3ish hours. Now I know I'm not a kid anymore, but it seemed... too easy?

Minigames (especially those parking meters) are too samey and boring (not to mention entirely unnecessary). Fun the first time, but no longetivity there.

...actually, it all boils down to the levels being too small and exploration being kind of anemic compared to the first game. It holds the whole game back. Makes each level just a rush to the elevator or ship piece, which happens quick because there's barely anything to uncover.

Other than that major complaint about level size and lack of hidden paths, the rest of this game is awesome. I recommend it for those who loved the Sega version.
