I wrote this years ago to explain Zimbardo's time orientation, the spectacle is a time trap whose only escape is consumerism I'm surprised at how well its held up, frankly.
Statusquotarianism
You will notice the different 'tropes' for the categories of time orientation. Hedon, victim, nostalgic, etc; none of these have a place in the Trumpverse anymore, according to this Duran article, in which "the revolution will not have a hollywood ending"--no one will get what they want, and there will be no lock him / lock her up...sameness of Obama's regime will continue on, forever, no matter which president is installed. Control grid is in control. The very word government means either mind control or state of control, and therefore, so long as there is government, you can expect nothing at all to change. Statusquotarianism. Kicking the can down the street. Slow walking....delaying...but what are they delaying? I'll tell you: they are delaying the inevitable unchangingness. It's the process--the process IS delay. Governments primary function IS delay....what are we delaying??? Exactly

- Government is nothing more than an empty promise stretched out into infinity. And they know this. They've always known

Specifically, the liberty cap, on a maypole. Kept just out of reach, this is THE TRUE symbol of US Government. To keep the secrets, to keep the power, to keep the freedom, to keep the liberty, just out of reach from common man. Nothing will change, because nothing changing is the primary function of government
Self-Operators
Therefore, in a world in which the government gaslights everyone, accomplishes nothing but a 'slow burn' house divided among itself, the only option for a person who wants to spare their sanity is to just walk away and go their OWN way. This is the self-operator. The prepper. The artist. The philosopher-king. The intrepid popular youtuber who has already devised 15 alternative revenue streams to youtube ad monetization. Adaptive, responsive, self-involved and self-directed--an unapologetic alpha in a sea of whiny fatalistic messianic cucks whose messiah--socialism, Kamala Harris / Hillary, Jesus / the church / God, the government, beneficent aliens--will NEVER come
No, the world has self-selected for people who are optimistic doers. Producers. Everyone else will perish. The builders will inherit the earth. The bible was wrong. It won't be the meek. It will be the productive.
I am not here to judge. I'm not here to criticize. You are the smartest person you know. Culture is not your friend.
There is no exit from this Trump era singularity (not his fault). That said, Get out. Mentally. Now.
How
As the Duran suggests above, you can become a 'utopia prepper'. I think this is very naive. Utopia is simply another false trope like socialism. There is a defect in humanity that makes it so we can't all get along....that was the very point of that same article, so 'utopia' kind of contracts itself, doesn't it?
Prepper is an idea. Just ---exit
You can give up and join them (if you can't beat them join them). This is the worst option, for me personally. I believe in God and goodness for goodness sake. I'll never stop fighting these people.
Another idea is to put yourself IN-TO the system and change it from within. That said, more often than not, it will compromise you and it will change YOU not the other way around. This system cannot be fixed, but you can try and fail all you like. Many others have. They now work for the SES
Another way is to create something new within the space that you have, to produce, something new and make it more attractive than what exists. This means to create a new world within this world, and then invite others to grow it.
I believe this is called an intentional community
Why did America fail?
America failed because it failed the world and the world failed America. Globalism failed, and so did the dream of the republic that turned out to be just that--a dream. We held up that dream, and it was created and recreated by propaganda. All the while bad people grew a terrible system of control and feedback systems that inhibited legitimate and positive changes, and only selected for negative changes that amplified the class divide.
But the final nail in the coffin was injustice. People will NOT tolerate injustice. They will not tolerate tyranny. This system gave birth to a logical conflict that has yet to be resolved: the fact that HIllary Clinton could commit vast espionage and Obama and Clinton and others in intelligence could commit a coup detat against a lawful president (and the people who voted him in office) and receive no punishment for it
THAT is the real thing that destroyed America. We cannot come back from this. Unless Trump does some magical thing at the 11th hour and publishes all of it and makes mass arrests, then america is simply a shantytown sprawl of corporate retail interests and a loosely federated collection of online services, just enough infrastructure to continue activity on the same....there is no soul left to our country, no purpose remaining
I want to be very clear. AMERICA, the country I love, NO LONGER HAS A PURPOSE IF IT IS NOT GOING TO BE JUST
