Thoughts on their cover art discography from best to worst

Disclaimer: this is solely based on cover art and doesn’t take music into account at all.

Best - Under Feet Like Ours: Love the hammock lining up with the text and part of the text cut off plus the whole atmosphere is beautiful. This is as good as cover art gets.

This Business Of Art: This to me feels like the eerie version of UFLO the muddy distorted filter, and the facial expressions really do it for me

Heartthrob: Hair

Love You to Death: The fact that both of their faces cut off at the same place but at different angles is super cool, and while I definitely don’t prefer the fem look over past looks, but my god do they nail it with the makeup. The whole cover looks like an upside down 1989

Sainthood: I like the zebra color scheme and the cut out for Tegan is a nice touch and was played on in the music videos.

The Con: I like the book idea but I’m not sure what the dark rectangle is, dirt? Leaves? The earthy looking contents don’t mesh well with it being a hard rectangle. I can definitely appreciate it, but it takes a little more effort.

So Jealous: It’s just boring. I understand the hearts, but couldn’t there be a little more to it? It’s not bad it’s just not interesting.

Worst - If It Was You: oh boy this was the easiest to pick by far. It’s basically just a worse LYTD The handwriting that works on LYTD, doesn’t work here. Same with the bright background, the angled face, and the fem look. And to top it all off the mouth gaping open thing is just weird. Still not terrible, I’ve seen WAY worse.

I’m curious to see what your lists are!
