I [18M] am in college, starting my first relationship [19F]. We're both new to this, what are some important first steps?

We're both in our first year at a liberal arts college. We were partners on a project for class in November, and since then we've been spending more and more time together; over winter break, we were texting all the time every day. We are both really shy though, so it was all as "friends," until last night I finally worked up the courage to bring her flowers and tell her that I wanted to date. (Sidenote: That might have been the most intimidating thing I have ever done, but it felt so very good after she returned the feeling and we hugged outside her dorm building.)

So, now what? I'm sure that we can feel our way through this strange new period, but is there anything really important that we need to do now to transition into dating? We already know each other really well, which I feel makes things a little more difficult to nail down. What are some important questions that we should answer and discuss now that we've gotten here?

One other question: how often should we be seeing each other? Every day, or every few days when we get dinner or have another kind of date or something? Obviously this is subjective and depends on the situation, but what would happen on average in a fledgling first relationship?

**TL;DR; : We're both getting into our first relationship. We already know each other pretty well. What are some important first steps for us?**.
