I have gone to school for too long and with no clue of what I want to major in. Everything sounds so interesting, and in the end, I can't major in everything.
I love animals ( I would like to be a vet, but that already too far away with too many years of school left. I would like to open my own animal sanctuary in the future and don't need to be a vet.), the environment( I love the outdoors.). I don't want to be a vet tech, because I want to be somewhat well off. I feel like I'll be stuck in a hole here. Working at a zoo would be awesome.
Some business tracks have interested me. I have set my sight in marketing and/or accounting. BUT I hear that you do the same things every day. Does that happen in marketing? I want to open my own business one day, and/or delve in the world of social media. (after typing all of this and reading it back, I feel like this would be my last option.)
The arts are cool, mainly theatre not acting but all the background/building sets that go in plays. I took an intro to theatre class and one of the requirements was to go help build things for the end of the semester play. I was hammering nails, sawing wood, painting. I fell in love. But how in the world am I ever going to find a job in that field??? I do live 2 hours away from Los Angeles, with traffic, maybe less, and there are also some local theaters, so I have to keep that in mind. I also always said that I want to work for a movie studio, whether it be in the office or on the movie sets. I just want to be able to say that I work at Warner Bros or some other studio.
I'm in computer science now, I don't feel comfortable at all in my classes, I feel like everyone has so much passion and I'm sitting waiting to get my grade and be done with the semester. At the end of the day, I am only doing this because everyone says that computer science is the future and I'll be making the big bucks. I finally realized it and I don't want to keep on this path.
Does anyone have any good suggestions on career quizzes or something I have to search within myself to make up my mind? thx
