Guidance with picking pieces for my own gel at-home kit?

So I've asked for a gel kit for Christmas and I'm giving my mom the exact items to get (she asked, I'm not like demanding it, just to be clear!)

I started looking for premade kits but thought it might be better to pick each thing separately. If there's a great kit out there, please let me know!

Otherwise please help me pick all the best stuff! Price wise it should be $100-200. This adds up to $130 I think.

Gelish mini "black shadow," "prim rose and proper," and "passion" ($12 each at Sally's, mini not regular size. There are sets of mini polishes on Amazon for a lot cheaper but I don't like the colors they come with).

There are color sets I do like by other brands, not Gelish, but not sure which brands are "good" and "bad." For instance I like this Gellen set, it's 6 colors plus top and base coat for only $20. I read that foil is actually better because it conducts heat? Is that true? These look much easier to use than foil.
