My last post is right here, and I basically had two questions. Would my bone heal with the pieces so far apart, and how soon should I get to weight bearing?

Everyone in the first thread answered question one, and told me that it would be no problem for my bones to heal at the distances they were at. So that was great, and if you look closely at my radiographs on the right you can see a LOT of healing over the past 4 weeks.

For question 2, about one week after posting that thread, my PT got a hold of my surgeon. My surgeon confirmed that "4 weeks 50% weight bearing" was from the time of surgery. After that he gave us the clear to go back to PT protocols, including 100% weight bearing. So I had basically one week to go before I could hop back onto my bad leg.

Since then, me and my PT have been doing a lot of strength and flexibility work. I have full extension on my knee (negative 8 degrees on both my right and left knees) and can bend it to around 130-135 degrees. For reference, my good knee is around 145-150 degrees. On leg press I can currently push about 50 pounds(my good leg alone can do around 175 pounds, so roughly 1/3rd strength), and I'm doing body weight squats, leg step ups, calf raises, leg lifts, etc, etc. Just getting my strength back.

We began weight bearing again and dropped me down from my walker to one crutch. I was on that crutch for about a week and a half, and then transitioned over to just a cane. My cane is super baller and I love it, it's like, full on Bruce Wayne style.

Two weeks ago I began practicing stand alone walking under the supervision of my PT.

Here is how I am walking around now, 6.5 weeks post op.I am currently walking short distances without issue(as in, I can walk around my small apartment without issue). For longer distances I bring along my cane(which I have name John. John McCane lmao), and use that to help me balance.

So I'm just going to keep the protocol going, keep working hard to get my strength and flexibility back, and just let the healing happen over the next 6 weeks.
