So feel free to disregard. I had an idea listening to Hesitant Alien of souls being managed by a space beauracracy and what if they made a mistake and put a cat soul with 9 lives in a human body. That combined with Gerard Talking about behind the Music in the doc and the concept of fandom lead me to a whole story. And I just sort of sat on it for a year cause I thought it'd only work as a comic. Someone suggested a novel.
So I finally wrote an intro. I dunno. But I thought considered all the concepts came from an imagination that was soaking in MCR verse and Art being the weapon maybe someone here would enjoy it, in case this is all there is.
Here goes....
One
My name is Diana Moot. Please don't hold that against me.
...
I didn't own a television in 2014. When I last owned a television there was a show on a channel called VH1 entitled Behind The Music and every episode was usually kind of reliable for two things. Often every episode showed a talent’s humble beginnings and things that would hint at success to come and then almost always it seemed was a shot of someone saying gravely, “and then everything fell apart.”
I was in a band. We were successful. We never were Behind the Music successful. Probably for the best.
I hadn't played with or spoken to anyone from Motel Art in a decade in 2014.
I didn't own a television because I couldn't afford one. But I didn't need one. We didn't need a Behind the Music.
Every sunrise, already awake and dreading data entry, life reminded me, “and then everything fell apart.”
I suppose not having my weight gain, my dermatological skirmishes and generally abandoned nails cataloged by fame decline chronologists was one plus of only achieving cult status. But maybe it would have helped keep me in check. I didn't think about it very much. I never put on clean underwear solely for the benefit of a hypothetical EMT. I never saw the meaning to that.
Then, on December 07, 2014, I was hit by a bus and died for the first time in my life.
It's a shame the band broke up. It would have been a good basis for a song.
