I'm a 35 y/o former professional artist, now college student (for coding and web development) living in the greater Seattle area. I don't have a super active social life after moving back to the state a couple years ago, and most students at my community college are busy learning and working rather than looking to make connections. (Also, the fact that I sometimes could have babysat half the people I'm in classes with is.... a whole thing.)
Anywho, I'm also a single parent and living at my mom's house-- yeah, I'm sure you know how fun that sounds-- so I'm busting ass all the time at school so I can get out of here STAT. I also have plenty of adult responsibilities and do stuff in my community, so that all means I tend to be on the run a lot and so I'd like to be able to meet some people who would also like to have friends but who understand not always having the time to sit down for a long gaming session, voice call, or whatnot. I'd be into things like sending random pictures and messages on Snapchat though, or using communication services where we can write or chat back and forth as our schedules allow.
I'm into DnD and role playing (though I'm too busy to commit to any sessions at the moment, I love a good basement/cheetos joke,) I also like art, creepy miniatures, dollhouse stuff, singing and karaoke, watching wildlife, doing nail art, crafting and textiles, vintage beauty and vintage furniture, going outside, doodling and drawing, and various hippie crap or nerdy things. I don't game a lot, but if I do it might be something like Minecraft or maybe a round of Dark Tower on Tabletop Simulator. I'd also love to work on my Norwegian, Spanish, and Japanese skills with someone, if one of those languages is in your wheelhouse!
I don't think we have to have everything in common, but I like talking with people who want to have actual conversations (aka, no, I don't want to be one of your 10,000 followers on Instagram and click hearts on your pictures while never ACTUALLY conversing with you.) None of us are perfect, but I'd like to be friends with people who are at least doing their best not to be intentionally racist, sexist, etc. Not looking for crotch pics either. Show me a little video of your cat sitting on your face when you wake up or a photo of the knitting project you're learning on your bus commute. I'll send you a picture of the weird plants on my school's campus or whatever. We can give each other movie recommendations, detail a dream vacation, or complain about how much we need a nap.
If that sounds appealing to anyone, hit me up.
