I'm REALLY not a fan of "typical" anime, I find it weird and I just can't get into it (no offence) but I just finished watching Spirited away and howl's moving castle and aside from the horrendous pacing and plot holes in HMC I loved both, the art, music and mood's really took me in.
Is that style something unique to studio ghibli? or are there others like it? {BTW I've got "Princess mononoke" lined up to watch this weekend.
EDIT: Thank you to collapsedblock who hit the nail on the head on "more mature" movies, I looked a few up (along with everyones recommendations :) and I've got these ones lined up for this week, what do you think?
Wolfchildren
The Girl who lept through time
Whisper of the heart
Your name
Ghost in the shell
Cowboy bebop
Grave of the fireflies
