The power of taekwondo

Taekwondo is the best support martial art, and here is why:

  1. Taekwondo is very defensive, you can block with both arm and legs, and this style also gains block bonus (you block more % of damage). This makes it a good combat style by itself.

  2. Taekwondo is forced unarmed style, which means you can still do unarmed attacks when wielding ranged weapons like guns or bows.

  3. It has reliable knock back attack that doesn't require a critical, this combos well with traps. It's hilarious to see zombies repeatedly step into the same nail board traps (upgrade to caltrops later). Knock-back also combos wells with guns/bows obviously.

  4. This style also works great with spears for those of you who don't like guns. When wielding spears, attacks made by pressing directional keys are unarmed, and attacks made by pressing f(ire) is spear attack. This means you can kite with spears by standing still, thanks to knockback. You also have access to both blunt and piercing damage at will.

  5. This is a bit of a bug (reported on github already), but taekwondo's block buff also applies to wielded melee weapons. That means that spear you are holding gives you a THIRD blocking option on top of arms and legs, AND it blocks more damage because the buff.

In summary, when entering combat. You start by laying 1 or more traps in front of you, then do some long range attacks with either spears or ranged weapons. Any zombies running up close will constantly get knocked backs, exposing them to more long range attacks, while stumbling repeatedly into traps. Any attacks they do get to make against you will do little to no damage (assuming decently clothed survivor) thanks high blocking capabilities.

edit: oh and I forgot #6. taekwondo skill book is very common in dojos. You don't have to spend points to take it.
