Question1:
I'm worried that my two large bone fragments are too far from the main bone/nail. According to the radiograph scale they appear just under 1CM away from the other pieces of bone. Will this amount of distance cause my recovery to take longer than normal? I am worried that I won't be able to return to an active lifestyle for a very long time.
Question2:
My PT group and my Doctor had a mis communication of some type, and my PT thought I had a Transverse Fracture, which is obviously a different case from my fracture with multiple pieces.
My PT had be putting around 80% of my bodyweight on the broken leg by before my 2 week post Op examination. I personally felt pretty good during these sessions and I was looking forward to walking with a Cane by around week 3. My knee can bend to 120 degrees unassisted and 130 with my arms pulling/stretching the quad, so otherwise my PT has been going great.
At my two week Visit with my Doctor, he was out of town, and so a Nurse Practitioner saw me. She basically put the fear of god into me. She told me "I see no signs of healing yet, and she said I had been bearing way too much weight, and they wanted no more than 50% of my bodyweight on the leg for 4 more weeks. So that would be 6 weeks straight without walking, which IMHO may be appropriate for an elderly patient, but a young healthy man like myself should be able to bounce back quicker right? Is that 6 week estimate way too long, and should I push harder to actually see my surgeon?
TL;DR, I broke my femur(video) and fragments are floating. Do they look like the distance too big? Should I begin adding back 80% of my bodyweight onto the leg by 4 weeks post op, or wait longer?
