Can I still have show off and luxury items if I make them myself?

Ok so this is going to sound rather conceited and self centered, but it’s just something I have been thinking about. Lately in order to create personal self growth and a better work attitude, I have been painting and redoing and fixing and refurbishing old furniture (some mine, some other peoples). These are personal projects for me. What is mine I usually keep and don’t sell. These are like massive antique chest of drawers and big china cabinets, all the way down to ottomans, side tables, and doll chairs. They usually look way worse than they actually are, so people tend to ignore them. I buy them cheap from auction houses and estate sales, and fix them up with literally a few nails, glue, tightening a screw here or there, a fresh coat of stain or varnish, and a whole lot of paint. They look really cool and fantastic now. But they are definitely show off and luxury looking items that look imposing. I have a few around the house that I just enjoy looking at. I am trying to find people who need them or ways that I can use them myself. But I like to keep my best work and projects though. I am very proud of them and myself. If socialism was in place, could I keep collecting and fixing up these furniture pieces? I think of them almost as a kind of art at this point. Or would these luxury goods be considered not important enough to fixed up and painted. And if they are, could I still keep them? Because I am scared that people will not treat these prices with love and respect that they need due to age. Also, would my ability to paint be required of me in other places? Because I can’t paint normal pictures very well or artistically, and I only really enjoy painting furniture.
