I started writing this in reply to someone's post about a DMT experience where they thought DMT was saying "I'm God.. and you're also God", or something like this
I've had some long personal conversations with Terence McKenna about this, probably because he recognized I considered DMT a parent and not a drug, we've sat for hours at a time speaking one-on-one.. I really needed answers from him
it's important to be extremely slow to decide on and believe what you hear during a peak experience
what you hear, even when you're under the strongest influence of DMT,
is not "DMT talking to you",
but rather, is an extremely difficult to parse hybrid of DMT talking to you and the massive layer of filters we both are born with and accumulate through culture, experience, expectations, fears, it's a long list and each of us have sometimes vastly different sets of filters.. which we struggle to see the light thru
it's extremely foolish to suppose that an 'answer' that you hear in your head is anywhere near a definitive statement by DMT itself.. that's a massive pitfall. many get lost there.
as Terence used to say, the way that you know if it's DMT talking is if it's telling the truth
now this may or may not be classified as merely our opinion, but
these endogenous tryptamines made us. they are our creator. they regulate heart rate and contractions during childbirth as well (Hoffer & Osmond)
the key to learning what you need to learn from DMT is to first realize that it is not a tool or a "catalyst that opens the door to God within" — we are the tool, DMT inhabits humans to be its eyes and ears on this planet
when you start there, everything fits so utterly smoothly into place
if DMT is our Creator looking at it that way, it is not 'omniscient' or 'omnipotent' — it is only where it is, it sees what it sees and knows what it knows, and this would seem to be limited to where it exists in nature (or outside of this planet, of course, where spores of 4-OPO-DMT containing mushrooms have proven able to retain their vitality in sub-freezing temperatures and reproduce many years later when warm again)
if we call DMT "God", then God does not "punish" people, and has absolutely nothing to do with "the weather" — other than bestowing upon creatures it inhabits with sensory organs, if not a direct relationship with higher concentrations of DMT, to sense when something bad is coming in order to avoid it. "God" doesn't kill people, it warns people.
every single thing we consider an inherent contradiction in our concept of a "Creator" is completely resolved if we were to assert that this Creator is a creator only of life and not of matter or the physical universe and that this Creator actually has to exist in a scientifically tangible way.. imasmuch as it gave us brains to consider what is scientifically tangible...
the elephant in the room is that people are afraid to really nail down what this is.
this is why we have nanotechnology but we seem like total dumbfucks when it comes to nailing down our endogenous consciousness, a molecule so stark and simple that it's metabolized within seven minutes or so when smoked
(elephant in the room..), it's utterly convenient to consider DMT a tool or a catalyst that "opens the door to 'God' because then you can claim anything
when you flip it around and consider it your endogenous consciousness, and recognize that fractal-plasma-control-room-of interlocking-laser-gear-machinery that you see as DMT giving you a glimpse of the math that made you
you are properly under its wing,
instead of pathetically trying to cram it under yours as some kind of asset or tool and thereby missing a lot of its instruction and blessing
the thing to discuss here then is not "is DMT God or is DMT not God", but the actual reason we're having this conversation and how it serves our needs to keep God an undefinable, mysterious, ethereal thing
rather than something scientifically tangible that we then have to commit to.
this is what's going on.
and this, 'why humans need an invisible friend' hehe..
..is far more colorful and enriching and informative to explore than the binary yes-or-no question, and humorously would seem a shorter path to resolving that yes or no question
whatever we think of God is we assume it gave us brains to explore what we call science
if I can summarize a bit,
the idea that something that created us would be exempt from the very science it teaches us... is desperately self-serving and pathetically misguided
and this is what to study.
if you want to take it a step further than this — we should talk about what DMT's strategy is in inventing a race that for some period of time makes laws against it
in which case we enter the marijuana grow room :) and examine why only when deprived of the male a female should theoretically have (as we should theoretically have unity with DMT..),
it produces copious resin that it would not produce if it were "satisfied"
so with us.. everything from human art to space technology, everything we produce,
is a manifestation of our "withdrawal symptoms" and desperate need to recover our long lost inner jewel, DMT
and if this is its strategy... maybe it's just the psilocybin spore planet hopping, it lands on Earth and, like a groove in an old pinball machine, develops a species that eventually produce a species that eventually produce technology to bounce it to its next groove somewhere in space
:DMT inoculated us, then withdrew, so that we would crawl the walls trying to replace it — and at the very end of those walls is outer space :)
billions of years of evolution are just a few seconds of a pinball/spore sitting there before it builds enough steam to eject it somewhere else..
we are DMT's ladder
eapecially funny if you read Jeremy Narby's book about DNA and spiraling staircases
why are we so afraid to consider that an actual molecule may be the source of our evolution
or anything actual..
it's like there's a massive door of knowledge about ourselves that we are afraid to look behind, and that question is the doorway
one more thing while I'm still here —
let's say completely forget about the concept of God, and examine only what it does to one's ability to receive as much minimally filtered information as possible from DMT to posture oneself as if it is God —
and consider that whoever thought up the idea of "saying grace" before a meal may not have really imagined that "God"'gives a shit if you "thank Him for food", but that this kind of approach is ideal for digesting and assimilating the influx of nourishment
how we feel about DMT maybe inconsequential to DMT, but everything to our proper interpretation of its messages
