[R/F]Gishki Timelords: Zielgigas Beatdown n Burn for Game

I had this idea the other day and began tinkering. This build is what i came up with, a going-2nd OTK that can use Zielgigas to beat over monsters and the Timelords to either field nuke or burn, then finish the game off with Gustav. It's a potent OTK that has surprising consistency for a Ritual deck thanks to the Impcantations being able to search out what you need. They also line up with Zielgigas' level which is just brilliant. It's resilient to almost all handtraps except Ogre, which means you just went neg 3 and makes me sad, but it's an alright trade off to not being hurt too bad by Ash/Veiler/Droll.

I feel Gishkis have actually aged really well and are not a bad play if you can find synergy with a supporting deck, which in this case is Timelords.

MONSTERS

3x Gishki Zielgigas The boss man. In traditional builds i recall Zielgigas not getting a lot of love and instead the deck relied on fucking the opponent's hand up instead, but this deck revolves around him. He can help break boards with his non-targeting, non-destruction removal before beating over something.

Evigishki Gustkraken Classic monster that finds a place here because it matches up so well with the Imps.

1x Evigishki Mind Augus Another classic, its use is situational but can help prevent some fuckery. Adds another ritual monster to help balance the searcher cards out.

2x Gishki Vision

2x Gishki Shadow These 2 cards have aged really really well and are great utility cards. They either search what i need, or they help conserve resources and can save a Timelord for summoning instead of being tribute fodder. Every ritual archetype needs these kinds of cards.

2x Gishki Chain Helps dig through the deck for pieces, at worst is an 1800 body

3x Impcantation Talismandra

3x Impcantation Candoll THANK YOU Konami for these. They do so much for ritual decks, and their levels are just so perfect for this particular deck.

3x Manju Nothing needs to be said here

2x Metaion Pretty devastating effect when you get it off. Definitely can be worth sacrificing Zielgigas if it means blowing up the opponent's board.

2x Michion Zielgigas beats over something, Mound of the Bound burns for 1k. Michion halves the remaining LP, then Gustav burns for another 2k. More often than not this is the main win condition.

2x Sandaion Zielgigas beats over something, Mound burns for 1k. Sandaion burns for 2k. Gustav burns for another 2k. Another potent win condition.

1x Raphion like the two above, Raphion helps burn enough to nail the OTK

1x Zaphion definitely a more situational Timelord, has good matchups against decks like Paleo, Altergeist, Trickstar, Striker, but is otherwise not very useful. Perhaps should be relegated to the side deck, where i'd keep 3 of them.

2x Ra Sphere Mode I love that this deck can make full use of the Orb. I will gladly forfeit my normal summon to blow up your stupid extra linked so-called "unbreakable" board. If you only have 2 monsters, then it's tribute fodder for Zielgigas, conserving other cards for other uses.

1x The Winged Dragon of Ra I was feeling extra cheeky so included this. So far in testing i've only found it to be a win more card lol but it doesn't hurt anything, isn't a brick since it can be tributed for Zielgigas, and is too hilarious when you actually pull it off.

SPELLS

3x Gishki Aquamirror The main card I want to use to get out Zielgigas. Great all around card, helps recycle resources back to the hand.

2x Gishki Photomirror Less awesome, and occasionally a fairly scary gamble lol, but still a good card at 2. If im paying 5k to get out Zielgigas then i have to make sure i'll get the OTK or at least be confident about winning next turn.

2x Forbidden Arts of the Gishki You really have to read the gamestate well and predict outcomes to maximize this card's value. It can be a big part of controlling the game until you can OTK next turn. It turns the duel into a bit of a wild ride by turning the tables on the opponent, but can bite you in the ass if they're able to mount a comeback. Timelords help mitigate that so im okay with the large risk factor in this card.

3x Mound of the Bound Helps with the OTK, sometimes that 1k burn makes the difference. Protecting your Zielgigas and Timelords is a very nice bonus as well.

2x Pot of Desires Used to bait out Ash so i can get other searches off uninterrupted. This deck wants to finish the duel turn 2, so i don't care about banishing stuff that much.

1x Monster Reborn Some decks it's not that good, and other decks it is that good. In this deck, it's awesome. Getting a Timelord or Evigishki back on the field can really do wonders in ensuring a win.

TRAPS

2x Call of the Haunted Helps when i have to blind go 1st, and can put Timelords and Gishkis back on the board to further complicate the gamestate for the opponent. This card im sure is going to be a sore spot for a lot of people (it's too slow, bad play, yaddayadda) but it's proven itself to be very useful. If i can't get the OTK on turn 2, then CotH basically guarantees it turn 4 or even turn 3 if the opponent isn't careful.

EXTRA DECK

So most of this is useless except for the Trains, but doesn't hurt just in case. Might end up adding Cherries + ED targets since there's so much space.

1x Mistar Boy

1x Bahamut Shark

1x Toad

1x Castel

1x Utopia

1x Utopia Prime

1x Number 81

1x Gustav Max

1x Skypalace Gangaridai

1x Number 35

1x Number 77

basically that's it. Hope you try out this deck, it's actually a lot of fun and is pretty slick when it clicks the way i want it to. Thanks for reading!
