MEGALOMANIA Lore Items v3

I also have links to MUCH older posts about similar things in this build.

Part 1

Part 2

Queen Anne's Gaval

The famed execution weapon of the eleventh queen of Nibudem. Yet another weapon modeled after the infamous Tiberius Hammer, this tool was made specifically for crushing the heads of dissidents and criminals into jelly.

Like everything about Queen Anne's rule, this too is something she stole from someone and proclaimed was her own. It is no surprise her heir came after her with said hammer. But Queen Anne got away scott free, sending herself to the afterlife of her own accord.

Inscription on the hammer

The Birthstones (Demonstones)

Ancient mancing relics from the era before the First Reaching War. There are seven in all - inscribed as sky, sea, earth, sun, moon, star, and wizard.

These items were crafted to control nature, so men could be more like Elves. Each Birthstone manipulates an aspect of its namesake, with the powerful wizard stone manipulating the mana in the world around it. As a failsafe, the wizard stone cannot be used unless all seven Birthstones are collected.

"We'll do what the Alfemaor could not."

The Moonlight

An ancient magitek weapon from the era of the First Reaching War.

During the arcane era, there were only three nations - Ustreau, Thermel, and Thorsonne. These megalithic nations always sat in opposition to one another, always bickering about who held legitimacy as the true heirs of the Whitmore Empire. The Moonlight was used bu Ustreau to show they were the strongest, only for their nation to be the first one destroyed.

"Let the respect of your tone belie the sharpness of your sword."

Jean-Juste Magnifique

Life rock

The miracle cure of stone stiffness and skin hardening. When Cockatrices ran rampant in the east, this antivenom was developed to counteract their paralytic poison which caused skin rigidness.

A shame that while this fixes the symptoms, it does not alleviate the cause - Cockatrice pecks.

Joy Stone

An ancient heirloom of the Horus family in Fogel, who rule Bellamere. It is rumored by many conservative parliament members to be a magical stone that protects from dark magic.

In the past, this stone was used to keep the Horus family in line, as they were exceptionally efficient rulers but deeply troubled. When Zia Horus became a despot, it was a traveler branding the Joy Stone that calmed his evil mind.

JOY APPARENT

Inscription on the stone

Dragon Egg

A very misleading name for a very misleading precious gem. Steiner Frey Whitmore himself held this rare stone in his hands during his golden years he spent settling Smoki Plac Zabaw.

A whopping 40 lbs/18 kg jade in the shape of an egg, it is a priceless artifact of the Fogel royal family to the modern day. A thief stole it once. And only once.

Armor of Souls

An armor so well made it appears right out of a fantastic tale. The breastplate and pauldrons are crafted from priceless, indestructible Orichalcum, coated in obsidian lacquer, trimmed in shining gold. The royal purple cloak attached to the armor is woven from Kirugiru silk, the most fine and durable silk on Durhan.

The innate magical properties of this armor render one invincible to the powers of the Janna, who effortlessly annihilate all who trespass in their territory. The perfect tool for going where one never should set foot.

"Try and break it."

Otto Hammerstein, creator of the armor

Eternal Eulogy

The source knowledge of all dark arts. Rumors circulated for a time, in the aftermath of the First Reaching War, that there was only one repository of all the old knowledge. It was Ee-Mer who transcribed all the dark arts unto unbreaking stone, and went into hiding deep in the Labyrinth of the Virgin's Sigh mountains.

Before this stone entered the world stage once again, the magic seemingly went away, and life returned to normal. That ws centuries ago.

NAKARMIC

EXEDO

NEYTA

Prominent inscriptions upon the tablet

The Blackened Nail

A cursed blade of ill repute and cursed power.

When the Walker of the Black was bested by a mere human, he gifted this man of spirit ancestry a weapon of demonic power. It would cause unchecked bleeding and piercing pain in those it cut, but if anyone laid their hands on this sword as their own, ceaseless torment and nightmares would follow suit for centuries to come.

Revis the Wroth made sure not to drop it, or touch the blade.

"Descendant of Antanjyl, behold your damned legacy."

Words of Harathurshikal, Archdemon
