How do you keep your sessions notes?

I've been a DM on and off for the past 20 years. I've tried multiple ways to prepare my sessions and organize my notes. Lately I've been trying my hand at using wizards modules and I'm running for multiple groups. I have noticed they're more preparation intensive for me and so I've been trying to nail down a method for planning and organizing my weekly sessions that work for me.

I love the idea of OneNote but I find that it's more useful for archiving. I like having my computer available for music, maps, art, and quickly looking up information online. However, I'm not a huge fan of referencing notes or pdfs off of a computer screen. I find it easier to switch between dice and paper than a keyboard.

I think I prefer running out of a notebook but I'm not sure how to organize it for multiple groups and make sure that I'm keeping useful information on hand. Also, my handwriting is lacking and I prefer typing out my adventures. That's easily solved through printing them out though.

I want to stop having to constantly flip between books and pages, a note book, and a computer. I want to be more organized and have encounters and monster stats ready to go and tracked with ease. I want to get better at taking notes during the session so I can better track events, objects, and plot points.

I've tried the lazy dungeon master method and there are principles I've taken from it and others I've found that don't work for my style of game. I've been reading the angry dm, and have read through chris perkins DM experience multiple times.

Maybe this is just a rant but I'm struggling to nail down a method that works best for me to organize my notes and my space behind the screen and I need to find it.

TL;DR I'm frustrated with my organized chaos but don't know how to fix it.
