I noticed no one really talks about Dragonball Multiverse on here, which is a bummer because the comments on the DBM site can get pretty toxic :( It's been really good and I started following it before DBS started and at times I feel more excited to find out what will happen in this fake gigantic crossover.
The writing is very faithful to the end of Z personalities of characters and a lot of thought is put into what the villains actually would have done for 30 years if they had won their individual fights in each of their own universes. And all of this is done with great art quality for about 85% of the chapters. Sometimes it's actually better than actual dragonball art!
SPOILERS FOR DBM PASSED THIS POINT!!!
If Cell continued to train for 30 years I would not be surprised if he got passed ssj3 lvl, then give him a majin powerboost?! Ok I can see how he would give mystic Gohan a bit of a challenge. And the way cell wants another bite out of a Gohan he knows once beat him in another universe totally fits and is great to see fleshed out. Also the way babidi took control of all the villains is just amazing. I've been waiting to see a bunch of villains with that menacing M on their heads ever since I realized it was possible playing the story mode of Budokai 2 as a kid.
All of their What-if-situations are pretty balanced and it actually feels like it gives me closure to questions I might have had. What if King Kold had been fully transformed when he came to earth? SSJ bardock vs 100% max power King Kold (chapter 36- The Fight of Fathers: http://www.dragonball-multiverse.com/en/page-790.html). The cover art for the chapter is just amazing.
nail vs recoome gives your imagination a good idea of how different it could have gone with nail there to help out. They even have uub vs majin Buu! Uub is stronger, but doesn't have the stamina so it's a very interesting fight. Then there is the crazy stuff that the authors came up with on their own! What if all the namekians starting with guru, put their trust in nail and one by one let him absorb them. That would be super strong and he is!! Or what about the fact that there is a dystopian universe where yamcha became Android 17, krillin takes over as the turtle hermit and they have a Z-Sword weilding Videl! AND SHE CAN USE KAIOKEN. I'm just excited to finally one day find out how that universe got so messed up that these characters turned out that way. And knowing the author it'll make sense when he does it.
Anyways! I was wondering what any of you thought of the series so far? I'm excited for the new special chapter about bardok again. But I'm afraid it's going to show all the Saiyans get killed.. again.. but this time his whole family is there so it's going to be sad. I'm not sure how they can bring the tournament back to normal because it has pretty much hit the fan. And when Ginyu starts to go crazy with his body swap then things are going to get even crazier.
Also did you guys have any favorite moments or anything? Mine has to be USSJ Trunks vs SSJ2 Vegeta. I just really really liked that fight with trunks popping back and forth between ssj and USSJ so he could try to keep up with Vegeta's speed, but when SSJ2 Trunks vs SSJB VEGETA came out like 4 years later I couldn't believe it because they did the same thing! If you guys are interested I can post this again after the next chapter or two are finished since it does release slow. (About 2-3) pages a week. It just gets tiring lurking on the comment section on their website when half the comments are complaining about not getting back to main fights and about the artists drawing in their own style for the specials. They can get really unnappreciative on that site and I know the people here can be the opposite and are usually appreciative. I think one of the best chapters in the seiries was done by an author that made the entire chapter look like an american comic book instead of a manga (chapter 41- collapse of an empire: http://www.dragonball-multiverse.com/en/page-909.html (it features the merged super-namek!)). That chapter looked so good it was almost like dragonball star wars, but every page had people complaining about how the art didnt look like original db even though half of the regular dbm chapters except for the specials are meant to look like original DB. A good example of art (base bra (vegito's daughter (yes vegito not Vegeta) vs second advanced form King Kold!!!!
