Outstanding

Just finished a hard playthough. I loved this game, from the art to the story, the hectic ship-to-ship battles and watching my little troop of commandos stumble from riches to giant robot ambushes.

You devs really nailed it here with something special, the rogue-like aspects really shine and keep playthroughs fresh. The difficulties actually bringing the AI to use more advanced weapons and ships instead of simply getting a larger block of health is also worth noting, a lot of devs just add more weak enemies and increase health but in Crying Suns the enemy actually gets smarter. Going from easy to normal to hard difficulty was a wild sort of a wake-up call to get better at the game.

With friends on the mic, phone or sitting beside me the game captivated and interested them all. Whether it was the art, the sci-fi plot threads waiting for you at new planets or the music - this game draws attention. It's appeal reached to my RTS-loving friends, my fellow RPG-addicts and even my 60 year old father.

I hope this game grows and improves with time and someday receives DLC or a sequel. And food for thought, Crying Suns would be amazing on an iPad or other similar tablets, not sure about phones and such but this game would be great on a portable touchscreen. The tactical pause in battles and the window-view into the galaxy hopping from planet to planet would be pretty incredible to lay down on bed with and play on a tablet.

Anyways, excellent game - I hope it's popularity spreads like a California wildfire.
