Hi,
I am absolutely new to arts. I have used watercolors just once in recent years, but my gf ¿watercolors? at a very amateur level, so I have some supplies and notions.
I want to draw a book cover. The drawing is clear in my mind. I will photoshop two images, draw the outline ¿with see-through paper?, and paint it with watercolors.
I know I will fail miserably at each step, so I want to build a workflow where, once I nail one step, I can use it repeated times.
My plan is to photoshop the image, print it, draw the outline using see-through paper (until I get it right), and scan it. Then, I'll convert the scan to a very faint gray, pencil-like, and print it on watercolor paper, where I will paint (repeated times, until I get it right). Then, I will scan the final result.
I only have access to my office's laser printer. What is the best paper to print on and then paint? What is the best paper or method to scan it and have little or no creases? Do you see any flaws in my plan? Is there any type of watercolor paper that I can use to draw the outline from the image? (Using an ipad as backlight or the such)
Thanks in advance
