Chapter 2, Hidden Below…
“Hey, Hey! Lily! What happened? Lily?” I believe Mallory is talking, my eyes are shifting, and my head is nausea. My shoulder burns bad, I look at it and its bleeding… that’s where I got shot. “Oh, Lily I found you!” Mallory says as she helps me up. “Uh, what happened” Lily says as it seems she had lost some memory. “Oh, I came to the house because they started a party, then I heard a gunshot” Mallory explains, “Who is they?” Lily asks, “Andy’s friends” Mallory responds. “Andy? Oh yeah Andy, but I don’t remember any friends” Lily says, “Maybe it’s because you don’t have any” Mallory says jokingly. “Huh?” Lily says “Well we need to go to a hospital” Mallory said, “How did you get shot anyways? Did you think a pistol was a popsicle?” Mallory said Jokingly AGAIN. “Well… come follow me, just ignore the music” Mallory says, I follow Mallory through the house party, which it seems there are a million people here. “Hey, Andy… Someone shot Lily” Mallory says to Andy, “Omg! How and what and where and who?” Andy says as he smiles, “Uhm, ok I’m going to bring her to the hospital before she bleeds out…” Mallory says as she exits the house. I help Mallory out of the house, and we head to my parked car as I get out my keys and unlock it, I find a note on my window that has a bunch of weird symbols on it “Hey, Lily? Where is that notebook?” Mallory asks Lily. “oh… It should be were you found me” Lily says nauseously, I hurry back to the house and knock on the door waiting for someone to answer, “Hey, what you need?” Andy says as he opens the door. I rush into the house and past the bar, the crowd of people and to the back to the room. I see her bag on the floor but weirdly… its open and I look inside, and I don’t find the Letherbook, “Where is it?” Mallory says.
“I look around, but I can’t find it, I assume it had to fall out but what if Andy stole it?” Mallory thinks out loud. I hurry back to the car and help Lily into the back seat, “Where is the Leather Book?” Lily asks. “Oh, um… I think someone took it” Mallory says, I start to drive off back to the dorm rooms at The School which is pretty far. Suddenly, I get a phone call from an unknown number… I answer it, “Hey, is this Mallory?” Unknown Caller says. “yes… and why?” Mallory says, “Oh, yes… This is Sam, where is Lily? She hasn’t come in yet and its pretty late” Sam says. “Well I mean nobody is their because they’re at a party on A FRIDAY NIGHT” Mallory replies sarcastically, “Well she’s at a party?” Sam asks. “No, she’s here with a wound in her shoulder” Mallory says, “Well you don’t have to be sarcastic with me” Sam says. “No, I’m series she’s like dying right now” Mallory says correcting her, “Oh wait I forgot I needed to bring her to the emergency room, ops my bad” Mallory says forgetfully. We eventually arrive at the Arizona Hospital and I help Lily in the building and so on. “Hey, this girl got shot in the shoulder and she needs the bullet removed” Mallory says to the front desk, “oh um you can just sit down and wait we will call a doctor” The front desk lady says. I sit down and before I know it, I get called in, I walk in with the doctor. “The bullet was really close to her neck; it might take up to 2 years for us to make her healthy” The doctor says. “Wait… What?” Mallory says shockingly.
2 Months Later at The School, Mallory enters her Astrology class… still worried about Lily. Mallory is 23 years old and she is learning about space travel right now which is a hard topic. It is November 13th, 2019. Sam has moved out and has bought a house close to the school, Andy is 26 and no longer goes to The School and will be leaving soon as Mallory is almost finished with her 3rd semester. As I have a seat, I see Tyler, Adrian, Danyelle, Tascia, Trevor, Landon, Even, and Bella. Mr. Softfield starts talking about space travel and how its almost impossible to do, but then I talk to Landon who is sitting right behind me. “Hey, do you want to come with me and Sam to the Hugo Residence?” I ask, “That creepy place? Isn’t that what killed Lily?” Landon says “Oh, no she just got shot… but she’s not dead” Mallory explains. “Well ill ask Trevor if he wants to come but its going to be early because I’m not busy” Landon says, “What are you gay with him?” Mallory says jokingly. “No, that would be Tyler” Landon says, “Wait he’s gay?” Mallory asks, “Isn’t it obvious” Landon says. “Yeah well… he seems familiar, I might know him from somewhere” Mallory says, “I think everyone knows him, we were with him in 7th and 8th grade” Landon says. “Just because this is the Arizona College doesn’t mean were in Arizona” Landon says, “Oh yeah were in Florida I forgot” Mallory says blushing, “I can see why you’re not a Geography expert” Landon says jokingly. “Well I remember that I did date him” Mallory says, “He also dated Tyrone for like 2 days” Landon says. “Well I left early in 6th grade so whatever” Mallory says, “And in 8th grade he had a crush on Trevor Vick” Landon adds, “Wait the Trevor in this class?” Mallory asks. “Yes, but everyone knew about it, #TrevorForever” Landon says. Soon enough the bell rings and we all leave, “Ill text you soon” Mallory says to Landon.
I head towards the exit of the school and I wave to Jory as I walk down the sidewalk towards the Hugo Residence, it’s close due to me hoping over people’s fences. I can already see a couple of people at the front house… “We need to head to the side house of, that’s were that thing is located” Mallory tells Landon, Sam, and Trevor, “Oh well I didn’t know Trevor was coming” Sam says. “And is there something wrong with that?” Trevor says, “Oh well no… but” Sam says as Trevor walks towards her. “Ok, let’s stop threatening people” Landon says, I grab the full Gear Key out of my bag, and we head in. As we go in it seems that its different then what Lily said, it seems to be crusty and dry, the basement is not flooded at all. We head to the Gear Box and it seems the door to it is locked, I head to the basement to see if I can find a key to unlock the door. Trevor follows me down to the basement as he takes of his blue jacket due to the extreme heat, I continue down the basement and reach this wide room. I search around through the knocked down shelfs, through the dark corners I see a glare “Trevor, I think I see something glaring off the key” Mallory says. “Yeah I see it too” Trevor says as he goes over and looks for the key, I turn, and I see the key sitting right there on a shelf. “Who are you?” Trevor Whispers to whatever that glow was, “Trevor? I found that key” Mallory says over to Trevor. Trevor turns around smiling and walks up the staircase “Hurry up” he says, “Why Is he acting so strange?” Mallory says. I follow him back up to the room with the Gear Box, “So? Did you get it?” Sam asks, Trevor passes me as he takes the key from my hand. While Trevor was unlocking the door, I see one of his arms dark, but It starts to fade to peach, after he unlocks the door, I go in front with the Gear Key and move some shelfs out of the way. I take the key and push it into the keyhole, the gears on the box start to rotate and grind “Well nothing really happened!” Landon shouts. “And Mallory? What was the whole purpose of that?” Sam asks, “Well Lily made it seem like the whole world would be saved if this were to happen” Mallory explains. We start to walk out the door and down the sidewalk… I start feeling a rumble in the ground and I see gears popping out of the sidewalk and the house itself. “Um guys… what is happening?” Mallory says.
I see the sidewalk and roads around the Hugo Residence crunch up due to the grinding gears, seconds pass and I see the gears start to come out of the grass and out of the Front House. I hear the grinding getting louder and louder and I start to hear people screaming and the rental house on the side collapses down and creates a giant smoke cloud. The smoke flies about 2 whole miles out and I’m completely blinded from it, “Wait! Where is everyone? Hello?” I scream out loud in the dust. I start to see a big outburst of lights and fire; I see a glimpse of what looks to be an inverted tornado in a black void, and I see a lot of familiar things rotating in 2 un-parallel circles around the inverted tornado. In those circles I see my school desk, my classroom, my 8th grade house, my dorm, pieces of objects that I own, and a bunch of other things. I continue in the dust and I fell this wall made of stone, I believe I found a house, and I fell this vibrating motion inside, as soon as I know it… the house blows up and I fly 35 feet back with all burn marks. I run and run and run and run, until I finally get out of the smoke, I reach a long street called 2nd avenue and I run down the street trying to get away from the smoke and dust. I take out my polarized camera and take a picture of the giant smoke cloud, eventually the smoke clears out. I put the camera back and head back to find everyone “Sam! Sam! Where are you?” Mallory screams out, I see someone twitching and moving on the ground right in the front of “The House of Gears”. I run up to her “Sam? Are you ok? Where is Trevor? Where is Landon?” Sam looks at me and responds, “I don’t know, I saw Trevor walking away after the collapse”. “What about Landon?” I ask Sam, “I… Don’t…” Sam faints or maybe she died, I take out my phone and call the ambulance to come for Sam. “Get off of me!” I hear someone yelling out loud, I rush towards the noise and I see Landon fighting Anthon, I take out my axe, run up, and slice Anthon’s back open. Anthon’s arms turn black and I see these tentacles coming out of him like he is some sort of Slenderman, Anthon turns around and heads into the front house which gears are coming out of. I try to go after him, Landon stops me “We need to go” He asks, “But he is just going to come back! I need to kill him, or we will be dealing with this forever” I reply, “Please Mallory” Landon says.
Landon tries to hold me back, but I push him away and head into the house to fight Anthon I follow him quietly up the staircase, he heads to a bedroom and I peak in. Anthon pulls down a ladder which leads to the roof, I follow and there is this pit of gears which anyone would die from if you fall in it. Anthon comes up behind me with an axe, the flames grow around us, he lifts his hands with the axe. I’m tipping over on the edge of death, someone behind Anthon shoots him, then I move out of the way and he falls into the pit and I see blood and flesh fly out. “I assume he is dead now” Mallory says out loud to herself, I turn around and see Trevor with a gun. “You killed him” Mallory says surprised, she continues “I thought you left, Sam said…” Trevor stops her from talking and he replies, “of course I would kill a creep like him” Mallory replies “Thank you”. I see the Firemen, Police and Ambulance cars heading this way, we head down and out the front of the house. “GET ON THE GROUND” the Police officer yell at us, Trevor lays on the ground with his hands up and I do the same, the police comes behind us and handcuffs our hands. They make us stand up with our hands cuffed together and take us into the police car, “Wait! There is a girl hurt here named Sam!” I yell out. They lock us in a police car and start driving off, we eventually reach this holding place for prisoners to be interrogated. I start shaking as we approach “Are they really going to lock us up?” I talk to Trevor, “Its okay… ill protect you” Trevor says as he hugs Mallory, No! All I wanted was to love and appreciate him, but he acts like I hate him… ILL NEVER LET H I M GO. “Did you hear that?” Mallory says blushing, “I heard a loud bang, but it came from in my head “Trevor says confused. “I can see why Tyler had a crush on you” Mallory says, “That was 10 years ago” Trevor replies. We arrive at the Florida Prisoner Detention Center or known as FPDC.
The police take us out of the car and forces us into the building, they continue, and we get put in a cell with 2 other people. “Wait? Is that Tyler?” Mallory says, “No, he just has the same haircut… and age” Trevor says as he turns around. “What are you in here for?” The other inmate asks, “Oh we just…” Lily gets cut off by Trevor “We killed Anthon Hugo and burned his house down” Trevor says as he stands right in front of me. “Hmm” The inmate says, I Notice the other inmate looking straight at Trevor. “Hey, do you like Tyler? Like at all?” Mallory asks, “I don’t know… I mean its just so weird to like him as a friend because of what happened in 8th grade” Trevor responds. “Well, life is too short, we are not kids anymore…” Mallory tells Trevor, “But… I mean” Trevor stutters. “I got in here for sucking a dick” one of the inmates say, I look at him confused “Was it Tyler’s?” Trevor says laughing, I punch Trevor in the shoulder. We wait out the night until I eventually pass out, I had weird dreams. I wake up with red marks on me, I’m bleeding from my eyes but I just wipe the blood off like nothing happened. The room is too dark, I see Trevor on the floor, and it looks like he is hugging someone… but nobody is there.
In the morning, the police come. Trevor stands in front of me “Uh, Mallory, come with me” The Police Guard says, I get pulled to this interrogation room. “Sit down Mallory” Some guy says, “We know what happened, you and Trevor will be leaving tonight, but for now you will be in prisoner holding until then. “Uh, why?” Mallory says, “We have not found Anthon Hugo’s body yet so…” He says. 2 Days later, I head home after school, and it is now December 1st, I get this weird feeling when I walk past the Hugo Residence. All burnt down, all crumbled… “I felt weird in there, he was such a creep, I just had to kill him…” Trevor says behind me. “Oh! Trevor, I didn’t see you there” I say in surprise, “I just saw you as I was heading to the dorms” Trevor explains, “Oh, hey Mallory” Sam says as she runs up to me. “Did I leave my location on in Snapchat, why is everyone coming up to me” Mallory says, “Yeah because 2 people is everyone” Sam says jokingly. “What happened, did the police come for you? I was worried” I ask Sam, “Sort of but I was almost dying, at least that’s what I told them” Sam responds. “And what about Landon?” Trevor asks, “What about him?” Sam says, “Oh I believe he just went home; the police might be looking for him” Mallory explains. We arrive at the dorm building and head into the hallway, “Were you at Duncan in 8th grade?” Mallory asks. “Yes, and?” Sam replies, “So you know about the… Trevor Forever thing?” Mallory asks, “Yes, I didn’t know Tyler all that much, but he wrote a story with me in it, I thought that was kind of creepy” Sam says. “Oh” I say, “It had Lauren in it, Trevor, Himself, a lot of people that he knew” Sam explains, “What about me?” Tyler says. Trevor start walking fast towards the stairs “Uh, ill see you later Sam!” Trevor says from a distance, “Sam, you were mean to me” Tyler says, “You would say Trevor doesn’t like me back and… how would you know that anyways? Its not like you can read his mind? What if he is gay? It does not apply to you!” Tyler says in an angry tone. “Well I mean, you would try to say he is gay even though it is so FUCKING OBVIOUSE THAT HE IS NOT!” Sam screams at Tyler, “……………….” Tyler just stares. “ok, well I think we should calm down” Mallory suggests, “Your just like James Charles” Sam says to Tyler. “I did not want that rumor to spread! It’s true that I like him, I only told 5 people that, but somebody told everyone! I created a small fire, it got bigger, sometimes when there is a wildfire, its best to just to not touch it” Tyler yells. Trevor looks around the corner at Tyler, some people at the end of the hall looks at Tyler, Tyler blushes and walks the opposite direction, Embarrassed. “Sam, that was a little rude” Mallory says, “how about this! FUCK YOU!” Sam yells back at Mallory. Sam walks off towards the staircase to Trevor.
I get to my Dorm, I get a call from Lily, “Yes?” I say over the phone, “Mallory! I don’t think I will make it; I’m dying… I got shot IN MY NECK!” Lily says. “Lily, you might be hallucinating” Mallory says, “Mallory! I’m not, The End is coming! HE is coming, The Chain will take us!” Lily explains, “Lily, you sound crazy” Mallory says before ending the call. I don’t know what’s going on but, she doesn’t sound so good, today has been rough hopefully tomorrow can be something else. I look at the TV for the news, I see that a giant storm had just hit China and its 20x a category 5, at least it is nowhere close to me. “and reports have been showing that Purple clouds are making this superstorm, this storm seems to be growing more and more over time” the news reporter says. “Were moving on to the Destruction of the Hugo Residence which has been Crumbled and burnt by a group of college students, Anthon’s body has not been found yet” the other news reporter says. I start to get concerned that its coming this way, but if it ever does… ill be long gone out of here, “Other reports say that there is some ritual or curse here, there has been images of this black vein stuff, if you know anything… you must call and tell us, that’s all the time we have for today” the news reporter says before it switches to a commercial. “Maybe by The End Lily was talking about this storm?” I think, I remember that she was sort of a cat person or she acted like a cat in 6th grade. I decide to go to sleep and call it a day, Tomorrow is Friday… thankfully, I need to understand this virus… or disease that is causing people to act crazy. Right as I lay in my bed, I pass out…
I wake up, I’m in the middle of a street… all dark around me. I see Trevor 34 feet in front of me, “Trevor? What are you doing here” I ask, “Don’t worry” Trevor responds. I see Tyler walk right out of behind him, “Mallory, I have found someone to love, don’t worry about anything… When THE END comes, nothing will be left” Trevor says as Tyler mouths his words like he is controlling Trevor. “Ty! You can’t control someone to like you! You can’t turn someone gay! That’s not right!” Mallory yells at Tyler from a distance, Tyler walks up to me, 27 feet away, 20 feet away, 18 feet away, 13 feet away, 10 feet away, and finally 2 feet away. He talks straight to my face, “Now where here at a Stand-Still, I wonder if you feel the kind of pain that rips your insides out, that’s something I know all about…” Tyler continues, “So many memories, so many Mistakes… It wasn’t all about him after 8th grade, I was always here… Mallory, your controlling this, WAKE UP! Or ill just continue until you realize. Its like a gift this curse has been brought upon me, a blessing in disguise. As the metal Descended my spirit Transcended right before my own eyes! Now take a look at me dear Mr. Vick, is this the Tyler you designed? You may think I’m gone but I͗́M̝̝̺̳͎̩͈̐̇ͥ͂͆͟ ̲̹̠ͫ̏̋̈́ͤS̘̹̞̝̦̫͊̋T̟͈͉ͧ̓̓̄̿I̩͒̒̇͛̕L̼̳͉̘͗̀ͅḼ̼͚͑̅ͮ̓ ̵̖̩̼ͤ͑̓̐͐̆H̊ͣ͛Ẻ̴̺̫͖̯̓͆͋̔̾R͂ͦ̑e were perfection having no age. I wake up, tears rolling down my face and my room dark as a void, I hear someone in the hallway. “So, you’re on the path of the Starving Artist? But at the heart were the art is heartless. Ever seen a masterpiece get Discarded? Start and Depart for the Art Of Darkness” Someone in the halls says. I hear someone else start talking, “Out of the Deep Dark Depths below, Three Ne’er-Do-Wells will avenge their souls. With a spanner and a wrench and a thirst to Quench, Haigh Ho! Its of to work we go.” Someone says in the hallway. From the supposed conversation I can assume that it was 2 teachers or staff members talking… but some words didn’t really make sense. Left here by the Gods and Beheaded by a rod, I have this sentence stuck in my head like it was a kind of catchy song, hmmm. I go back to sleep…
The next day I head to class following behind Sam and Trevor, I think she might be a little upset still from what happened yesterday, as I turn the corner to the hallway where my class is, I see Tyler walking in. I go into the class and sit down, everyone is here, “Once upon there was an Angel who swallowed a spider, it wriggled inside her and out came the Striker” Mr. Softfeild says, I thought that was a weird rhyme, but nobody said anything about it. I try to get through the class period without getting depressed, I feel like I’m wasting my life here, Landon taps me on the shoulder “I went to the hospital, there is a scar on my back, at least Anthon is gone” Landon explains to me. “That’s good…” Mallory replies to Landon, Eventually the class ends, and we all get up and leave the class, as I leave, I look back at Tyler and I see him staring at me with a blank face. I get into the Hallway and I see a big group of students, about 100 marching through the halls sort of singing. “Wave your flags and Renounce these halls, you may have been sacked from this Pantomime, but a pal of mine once you recalled. So, march along to the count of four, astound at the scoundrel crowd you drawn, left stranded and damned to this mangled form, to abundant us here was an Act of War” the crowd says. “Do you think those are just all the Autistic kids” Trevor says to Sam, “Ha, this reminds me of those fights that happened once a month in Middle School, there was like 6, and 3 of them were the same 2 girls.” Sam says. “Its laughable to think you will bring back the norm, were ink but no malpractice forms, we’ll trap you down beneath the factory floor” the big group continues. I hurry to the exit, I start to cringe at the Group, But I just leave. As I get into the front of the school, I see Julian “Hey, Mallory, I know Lily is like dead or whatever but tell her I wish her luck, I have almost finished my final Semester at this school and I’m going to be moving to another state” Julian explains, “So she doesn’t have to work for me anymore” Julian ends the conversation. Its sort of sad to see people moving on, even though I don’t know them.
I see Tyler walking down the street, I run up to him… “Tyler, you have a crush on Trevor?” I asks while smiling. “I HAD a crush on him, why are you asking anyways? Some random ass girl!” Tyler replies questioning her, “I think that’s cute” I reply, Tyler starts to walk away faster while blushing. “Wait, there is nothing wrong with liking him, even if he doesn’t like you back” I continue, “Okay Mallory, Wait? Do I know you from somewhere?” Tyler asks. “I believe we dated in 8th grade, oh I remember!” I remind him, “Yes, I remember, but that was almost 13 years ago” Tyler replies, “But you really should have listened to Lily when she called you” Tyler says with a concerned face. “How do you know she called me?” I ask, “Because I do, she was really weird… I think were better off without her” Tyler says, “That’s really mean” I reply. “Well, its life, I’m just sick of her” Tyler says, “Wait? Why is your name Tyler…? I thought it was Ty?” I ask, “Because it is!” Tyler says as he Storms off. I wonder where Andy is, I haven’t seen him in a while, ever since Lily got… shot. Oh! And I forgot to ask Tyler about the dream I had, I go and catch up to him, I reach this stone house… I believe I saw him go this way. I look on Snapchat and view Andy’s story, and apparently, he moved to another country, why is everyone leaving right after they finish college! I’m losing so many friends recently, I start to feel even more depressed, then you know how I feel… I heard this voice just talk to me; I have been hearing it lately… “Hello?” I yell out loud, I look by my feet on the ground, I see a paper saying “He is out of control, they killed him? But he is not gone, I hope he doesn’t hurt her… Please” I get chills up my spine. I start to move and walk away but not until I here this voice “Mallory?” Someone calls, “There you are you Fucking Bitch” Somebody knocks me out with the back end of an axe.
I see Tyler and Trevor next to each other in the middle of a street, looking at me. “Tyler, I didn’t get a chance to ask” Mallory yells, “Don’t worry, I’m living life without a life-line” Tyler responds. “are you even really here?” Mallory says as Tyler walks up to Mallory, Trevor fades away, “No, but there is someone you need to kill, Wake up!” Tyler says. I wake up from another dream, I see… Anthon Hugo dragging me to a weird old looking house, small though. “Huh? I thought I killed you” Mallory says dazed, “No! but ill kill you” Anthon responds. He grabs me by my hair, “GET THE FUCK OFF OF ME” Mallory says screaming, “HELP! HELP! SOMEONE!” He Pulls me, My Hair falling out and my scalp bleeding. I have all these bruises on me, the windows are covered in this house. “HELP!” Mallory continues, I grab onto the side of a wall and I completely pull 2 nails out while doing so, he locks me up in this basement and barricades the door. Its dark in a Basement in the woods, Mallory Hasn’t been seen since…
