Idea for a THIRD Hollow Knight game (spoiler)

First of all I want to clarify - do I think Team Cherry will make another Hollow Knight game after Silksong?

NO, I DO NOT (or at least not anytime soon). But if they were I have an idea that's been in my head for the past couple of weeks.

Personally, I firmly believe that Silksong is a prequel to Hollow Knight. While I am very excited to learn about what Hornet was doing (and possibly the state of other kingdoms / Hallownest itself before the infection), that means that the Godmaster ending ( for anyone who hasn't seen it ) is just a gigantic cliffhanger and is unaccounted for. So I did the obvious thing and came up with an entire third game happening after the Godmaster ending.

I do understand that this sounds utterly insane, but I would make the third (and last) game be about the Hollow Knight himself (I'll explain everything slightly later) That way we would have 3 games and play as a different important character in each of them, in chronological order they would be:

Hollow Knight: Silksong

Hollow Knight: Void Heart (that's what I'll be calling the original game from now on)

Hollow Knight: Pure Vessel / Hollow Knight 2: Electric Boogaloo (title can be obviously changed, but that's the version I'm gonna go with)

GAMEPLAY: I think it would be very nail-focused with not a lot of dodging. Instead of aerial combat it would be more about different nail arts and techniques, a real parrying system where you have to predict/react to/know where exactly an enemy is going to attack and which part of your body you have to protect (since your hitbox would be way bigger than the Knight's or Hornet's) and maybe instead of charm builds or crafting you could switch between different fighting styles (or just between heavy and light attacks). It would be very different to Silksong (which is much more focused on said aerial combat, dodging, really fast paced etc.) and Void Heart being the sort of middle-ground between the two. And when it comes to spells I would have them be more similar to Void Heart's - you would have different Void and Soul spells (but maybe instead you could infuse Void or Soul into your nail to make it have special effects or act differently or as a different weapon altogether, again, it would be more nail-focused).

SETTING: The game would take place mainly in a Hallownest almost destroyed by the Shade Lord (maybe you could have enemies/areas mutating because of the Void similarily to the infection or have entire areas combine, because they were both destroyed and 'seeped' into one another), but it could also incorporate areas close to Hallownest (even ones from Silksong), so that we get to explore the world more

PLOT: The Godmaster ending would be the very start of the game (acting as a brief recap of sorts) followed immediately by a fight with Hornet acting as a mini-tutorial for the new combat system. This could go a couple of different ways: you could beat Hornet to showcase just how powerful / skilled the Hollow Knight is (although the Knight was able to beat him) or Hornet could beat you, both ending in an understanding that (because the infection is gone and the Hollow Knight isn't controlled) you're not a real threat to eachother (the beginning could and maybe should be reworked but it doesn't matter all that much). The encounter is then followed by you (The Hollow Knight) exiting the Black Egg temple and seeing the damage already caused by the Shade Lord / Void.

At this point the game could just go on from there with the world being slowly changed by the infection over the course of the game, or there could be a time-skip to a point when Hallownest has pretty much been destroyed (as said in the 'setting' section)

The basic plot would be about The Hollow Knight trying to defeat the Shade Lord to save Hallownest and regain his former 'glory' as the Pure Vessel and prince of the kingdom (as a part of the gameplay you could find pieces of the armor seen in the Pure Vessel fight to increase your HP instead of Mask Shards), with Hornet acting as a supporting character (sort of like Quirrel, but waaay more involved)

In more detail: The (small) first part of the game would be the Hollow Knight learning / remembering basic nail arts / styles and getting very basic spells followed by a fight with the Shade Lord, who ultimately proves to be too powerful and you end up losing the battle and barely escaping (with consequences such as a major character from the series dying or an important area like Dirtmouth being destroyed).

This sets you on a quest to learn more and become more powerful (new spells, new nail styles, just stuff from the 'gameplay' section), but also seeking help from people from Hallownest and other kingdoms. You'd travel to different locations and have to fight (and defeat) both old and new bosses to 'prove your worth', earning their respect and slowly becoming recognised as the king of Hallownest and the rulers helping you in some way (be it in battle or in other ways). This could also affect the gameplay, with some fights being harder/easier and options/areas being locked depending on who has agreed to help you

This could make it possible for characters that have barely appeared in other games to actually be a bigger part of the story (and of course for us to get more lore), such as the Hive Queen, Nail Masters, Mantis Lords, White Lady, Weavers (even the Pale King himself if he's alive, who knows at this point) and of course characters from Silksong that we haven't seen yet

This all could end in a couple of ways, ranging from the Hollow Knight completely failing and Hallownest being destroyed and a scene hinting at the fact that the Void is slowly moving out of Hallownest and destroying other kingdoms to (if you've done everything in the game / gotten everyone to help you) the Shade Lord being defeated, the Hollow Knight taking his place as king and Hallownest slowly being rebuilt (maybe even combining with other kingdoms)

Do I think this is a good idea for the game? Yes! Am I biased? ABSOLUTELY! This idea has just been in my head for a while and wanted to share it (I'm curious what other people think).

Also, I'm not a native english speaker so please excuse any gramatical errors and stuff like that (just point it out and I'll edit the post to change it) Also also, sorry for the overly long and rambly post

EDIT: Formatted the text a bit so this nightmare of a post is slightly easier to read
