Is there an age when you should stop wearing sparkly nail polish?

22 year-old here. Recently applied some silver glittery nail polish to my nails and was told by a friend that sparkly nail polish is extremely juvenile and makes you look immature.

Is this a thing? I mean, I see some women in their forties rocking some interesting shades and nail art, and I never thought less of them because of it...but now I'm wondering how sparkly/glitter nail polish is received by the general public?
