Plus Size Women Empowering Others To Be Curvy And Confident

We’re in the 21st century; we are way past stereotypical norms in terms of color or race or sex or body size and shape. You’d think it would be easier for bigger women to step out and be confident about who they are, now that even gender fluidity is starting to be accepted.

Well, the cold truth is; yes, gender fluidity or plus sizes and zero sizes are all very well being accepted, but not so much in real life as they are in theory or on the social media. People are very vocal on the social media about being open minded and about accepting people for what they are. But when it comes to real life, and when it comes to putting the shared social media views in to practice and actually accepting people without any inhibitions, there seems to be something missing.

Perhaps, a genuine willingness to do so?

The fear of getting shunned as “one of them” by the society?

The fear of offending others if they don’t always follow common views?

Either way, it is always the so perceived “abnormal” people who are on the receiving end of things that suffer; that is, the plus size women or the darker women or the gender fluid etc.

Clearly, but unfortunately, it is a fight for plus size women to be considered normal. It is even more so for teenagers who are always too vulnerable to being judged. They all need frontiers who are not afraid of the society and what the society makes the rest of the world believe. They need someone who knows what it’s like to be on the other end and have a genuine willingness to make a change. They need influencers!

Thankfully we do have many fearless curvy and dusky women out there who are set out to become leaders of the curvy campaign. Even though the social media seems to have done more harm than good for plus size women, efficient influencers know how exactly how to make use of the platform to spread positivity and equality. Some of them have their own place on the internet to share their views while some others solely use the social media for the purpose.

Here are a few of the biggest influencers among plus size women who are strongly and dedicatedly empowering others to be curvy, confident and comfortable in their own skin.

Diana Sirokai – body positive activist and model

If there is anyone who has probably mastered the art of using Instagram for good things, it’s Diana. She is a model, a long time body positive activist and most importantly a powerful influencer with a follower base of more than 800, 000 people. She shares fashion, specifically how to make all kinds of fashion work for curvier women through Instagram and she endorses brands that specifically cater to bigger women like Fashion Nova and Natch. Ironically enough, Instagram always used to be a source of insecurity for Diana, where she always saw slimmer women posting pictures in their bikinis. And just like every plus size woman in her teenage years, she always found it difficult to fit in to the kind of clothes that her peers used to wear. That was when she decided to study fashion in the hope that she could change it for herself when she grew up.Then one day she simply found the courage to turn things around, and now she posts pictures in bikinis showing off the body that she once felt insecure about. If that’s not encouraging enough for all plus size women then I don’t know what is!

In fact, her store name is what people probably know better, and she Flawsofcouturegets to be unapologetic about her looks and confidence though her online store. And she makes sure that her fellow girls also get the message loud and clear, because right on her home page, are the words “*Start out perfect and don’t change a thing. Always accentuate your bets features by pointing at them. And conceal your flaws by sucker punching anyone who has the audacity to mention them.”*Talk about power, perhaps literally and figuratively!
