Radiant Collector Guide

Hey r/HollowKnight! Since I've seen that a lot of people have been seriously struggling with the Radiant Collector, I decided to make a guide for it, since with the charm setup and strategy that I've been using I was able to defeat it in a reasonable amount of attempts (under 15, i believe).

Still need to unlock Winged Nosk...

This strategy isn't entirely mine, I've pieced together advice I've seen going around and came up with this charm setup:

Shaman Stone, Weaversong, Grubsong, Unbreakable Strength, Nailmaster's Glory and Quick Slash

Charms:

Alright, so let me explain why we're using these charms. First off, obviously overcharming doesn't matter since it's a 1-hit KO anyway. Weaversong and Grubsong work together to help you get more soul from enemies (The little weaver helpers can collect soul for you if you have Grubsong equipped, even from the Collector itself!). Unbreakable Strength is not just useful because it ends the fight quicker, but it also boosts the little weavers' damage, making it so that if they touch a minion spawned by the Collector, you're now able to kill them in one hit. Although I didn't rely on this too much, it can get you out of a few sticky situations, with a bit of luck. Obviously, the charm is very good on its own. Nailmaster's Glory and Quick Slash work together to ensure that you can immediately kill the first enemy spawned by the collector when its jar breaks using Great Slash, as well as Quick Slash letting you deal more damage to the Collector when it's jumping around (note: I didn't use any nail arts on the Collector itself). Shaman Stone is simple to explain, it boosts the damage of your spells, and using it you can kill all of the Collector's minions with one Shade Soul.

Strategy:

The first thing you do when the battle begins, before the Collector shrieks, stunning you, is to dash next to it. This way, even while the little animation is playing and your character is stunned, the weavers can collect a little soul for you by damaging the Collector. After it's done shrieking, the collector will immediately jump up and drop a jar. Whenever the collector jumps up and prepares to drop jars, you have to immediately ready your Great Slash ability and go to the jar closest to either edge of the arena - this isn't a concern early on, when the Collector drops only one jar at a time, but it becomes very helpful later. When the jar breaks and the enemy spawns, you immediately kill it with Great Slash. The Collector will then drop down and start hopping around like it always does, simply avoid it and sneak up behind it after it lands to get two or three hits (note: it's very important that all enemies are cleared before you start dodging the Collector, otherwise it's easy to get overwhelmed!). Repeat this process until you inflict enough damage and the Collector starts dropping multiple jars. By now your soul gauge should be pretty full. Keep using Great Slash to kill off the first enemy that spawns from the first jar, but now make sure that you're close to the edge of the arena, so you can simply turn around and use Shade Soul to clear them. If your timing is right, you may even be able to hit the Collector when they land, inflicting lots of extra damage - but this shouldn't be a priority, what's important is that you clear out all the minions. Repeat this process until the Collector is defeated. With a bit of luck, it shouldn't take long, as it doesn't have that much health, and all the damage buff charms should help considerably.

One last, but pretty important word of advice: whenever I know a boss is unreasonably difficult and people struggle a lot with it before attempting it myself, it always helps me not get angry when I die again and again, and instead focus on the little progress that I'm making each time. This helps me focus more and defeat the boss even quicker! I really hope you found this little guide useful, and good luck to all of you attempting this tedious boss! You can do it!
