Hi all! I’m four months strong into kicking my cuticle and nail chewing habit I’ve had my whole life.
One tip I picked up from the nail art community is to use nail oil pens 3-6 times a day to keep cuticles nice and nourished. They’re little plastic pens you fill with jojoba oil (what I do), or a mix of different oils (you can look this up, I believe it’s popular to incorporate vitamin E oil)
I bought these pens:
TWY 10 Pack 3ml Transparent Empty... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07BTDB4GL?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
They’re not technically designed to be refilled but there are videos on YouTube showing how to do so.
I mostly discovered this through SimplyNailogical on YouTube, in her video “How to grow your nails fast”: https://youtu.be/9Mn-5pWLErg
It’s one of those things that I’ve kept up for several weeks and frankly my cuticles look great. I keep pens in several bags and near my bed so when I feel like picking I just oil my fingertips instead. When I’ve stopped doing it for a few days I do notice a difference in how scraggly or dried out my fingers get which gives me an urge to pick.
I hope this helps!
